1st game o f the season and a bitter pill for us at full time.

Flying in the 1st half with a lovely lob from Jack after a ball over the top from Joey. Charlie adding a thunder bolt from the edge of the box to make it 2-0. The opposition keeper playing out of his skin; it could have been a lot more if we took our chances .

2nd half was a sickener. A very soft goal to concede in the first minute let them back in it. Caught out by 2 long balls carried by the wind put us 3-2 down.

We had a hat load of chances and should have been out of sight, but poor finishing and a keeper on fine form meant we lose 3-2 on the opening day.

Coaches MOM go to Jack and Sonny, both with disciplined and quality from start to finish. Their coach gave to it Big Henry on his debut with an assured display at CB.

Heck of a day at the club fun day and presentation for the lads.

Last season we managed to stay in this division by the skin of our teeth, we finished in the relegation zone but after a drop out from the league it meant we could stay.

That was a difficult season and as much as the lads put the graft in, it hard to watch at times. With a couple of lads leaving, it left us a bit of room to recruit over the summer to strengthen, that’s when we welcomed Will, Seb, Alfie, Charlie and Blake to the Greens.

The difficulty of this division didn’t change and we found it just as hard again from the off, 1 win in the first 6. With a couple of lads then leaving for new challenges we welcomed Jacob to the team.

Santa must have been good to the lads though because from this point on their effort, desire and belief started to shoot up, picking up some vital wins and giving some of the big teams a rattle. The lads resilience and consistent hard graft paid dividends as the season went on, reaching a Cup Semi Final only just loosing out 4-3 to one the big teams. And also winning 6 out their last 7 games including 2 huge scalps over 2 big hitters.

This was our best season yet, finishing in 6th place and means they play at the highest level possible for the 3rd season running. We can be canny tough on them at times so all credit to them for the graft they put in on the training pitch and in games and pushing themselves to be better. A tremendous season.

Last game of the season today, aiming for 5 wins on the bounce, against one of the big hitters.

After Thursday’s win we asked for the same approach and attitude. And that’s what the lads produced. Absolutely rampant against one of the big 5.

Charlie switched on from the off dispossessed their defender when playing out from the back, and thumped it home. No messing about. 1-0 early on.

The lads remained on top and soon after Jack lashed one home totally out of the blue from 25 yards. An absolute rocket right in the top corner. 2-0, what a start!

And it got better! Great work and skill from Jacob out wide, beating a few men to pull it back to Will on the edge of the box. Will’s shot save but parried to Charlie who wasn’t playing games. 3-0.

More pressure on their back line lead to a corner drilled in by Charlie, and met with bullet header from Jack, back the way it came, straight in the top right corner. Another outrageous goal from Jack to take him to 20 for the season. 4-0.

Half time. An incredible scoreline for us, but fully expecting the opposition to step it up from the kick off.

And that’s what they did. They piled on the pressure and pulled one back quite quickly when we failed to react to a shot that came off the bar. 4-1.

Fair play to the lads, they scrapped and got themselves back in the game. Charlie involved again winning the ball in midfield and driving forward, finding Jack with an inch perfect through ball who took it on and buried it. 5-1 and a hat-trick.

The game started to go end to end, and they pulled another back, but only for the lads to take control of the game again and score a 6th from the spot after Alfie was brought down. Charlie smashing it home for his hat-trick. 6-2 FT.

An unbelievable score and performance from The Greens to finish the season with 5 wins in a row, including 2 against 2 of the big hitters in the division.

MOM was a no brainer. All of the lads put in another cracking shift, but for a hat-trick each it goes to Jack and Charlie, plus 2 assists for Charlie. Absolutely brilliant. 🙌.

Penultimate game of the season tonight against 2nd top. After a great run of form all we wanted from the lads was plenty of fight and to take pride in their performance.

The lads showed incredible attitudes and desire from the off, not letting the opposition get into any pattern or groove. We had the better chances! Our hard work and determination paid off when Harvey found Charlie on the left wing with a through ball. Charlie’s shot was parried to Alfie who finished it crisply. 1-0

Some rock solid and rugged defending as well as an amazing save from Joey low down to his right kept the score at 1-0 at half time. Saying that, we had a hat full of chances too and it could have been 3 or 4.

2nd half we expected it to get a lot tougher, and it did. But credit to the lads, they faced up to the challenge and stayed on top winning the ball high and not letting the opposition settle. The constant pressure lead to a throw-in for us which Harvey missiled in, Seb flicked it on straight to the back post for Charlie to hook in. 2-0.

The lads carried on the same way and carvied out more chances than them. The balance started to turn in the last 15 minutes as they cranked up the pressure, but the lads defending was resolute. With 5 minutes to go we gave away a penalty, heart in mouths. The lad who stepped to take up could kick a casey 100 yards. He wolloped it but Joey made an UNBELIEVABLE save and even better he kept a hold of it diving to his left.

The pressure still on, they pulled one back in closing stages, and heaped more pressure on. Another fantastic save from Joey kept them out. Final score 2-1 🙌.

MOM was extremely difficult. Every player was tremendous, stuck to their task and battled for the whole hour. Brilliant discipline. Defenders were superb, midfield won the battle and the forwards always dangerous. But for the last 10 minutes Joey was outstanding, and saved us the win (if that makes sense), excellent kicking and controlled the pace of the game when we needed him to. 🙌🙌🙌

3rd win off the bounce today, but only just!

A poor first half from us, we looked like we didn’t fancy it from the first whistle. We did go 1-0 up with good centre forward play from Jacob to race clear on to a through ball from Seb to then round the keeper and smash home after his first shot was saved.

The opposition were the better team in the first half and deserved their goal direct from a free kick just outside the box. 1-1 at half time.

Some strong words at half time because the lads were playing well below the standards they’ve shown in previous weeks.

A brilliant reaction from the lads in the 2nd half. Much higher work rate and a lot more hunger to try and get the win.

Composure from Jack in the box, working an opening for himself and eventually finding the bottom corner from an angle after catching the keeper off guard. 2-1.

Jack was there again to pounce on a misunderstanding between their keeper and defender, getting between them and poking the ball home from 10 yards. 3-1. The lads looking much better.

Loads more chances for the lads after this and the game could have been out of sight with Joey having very little to do in goal.

They did get one more goal to pull it back to 3-2, a bit of a nervous ending but the lads held on for the win.

A game of 2 halves, with the lads showing their character 2nd half to get on top👏. MOM was easy this week. Another flawless shift from Seb who man marked a very good and awkward player, and didn’t let him have a kick. Outstanding 👏.
