The importance of building bullet proof knees in female athletes is very real.

The occurrence of ACL injury is shown to increase during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle.
As estrogen binds to receptors on the ACL leading to decreased collagen production reducing the tensile properties of the ligament. (Berlanger et al., 2013)

Periodise around hormonal fluctuations in female athletes.

Build structural balance between hamstring and quad strength.

Drill landing correct mechanics at velocities specific to the sport

Celebrating strong women at UR 💪🏻

Here at UR we know that the fitness industry can be very male dominated, this can lead to the age old myths that lifting makes you bulky and the weights section is for men.

On the flip side, clients can feel uncomfortable entering the free weights area or would like the option to choose who they train with. We are here to change that 🙌🏻

It can be hard to make it in the fitness industry as a woman as there is a lot more pressure to look a certain way to be respected.

Today, we want to celebrate the fact that three new female coaches have joined the team on our mentorship programme and we want you to know that we are here to empower women to become the best version of themselves, and have the confidence to do that no matter what the goal is.

What to expect:

Our timetable covers a wide range of programs to meet your needs. Cardio more your thing? Get your heart raised with our HIIT classes. Resistance training more your vibe? Try our strength class.
Like a bit if both? We also offer boxing and bootcamp sessions. For those of you who like to slow it down and work the body and mind we also offer yoga as part of our workplace wellbeing.

📣 LADIES 📣- If you sign up and register your interest with us today, you will receive a code for £10 OFF our monthly class pass (usually £50), which gives you access to all of our classes* (unlimited!) for four weeks.

We also offer transformation groups which run for 6-12 weeks and include 2 sessions p/w, giving you knowledge and ownership to become your own trainer plus unlimited classes that come with it.
