My battery went flat when I was doing the weekend reports and I fell asleep in the evening but fully charged now and ready to go.
Sunday morning and a 10-30 start for two matches in the Club Pairs Comp.
On Rink 2 were Keith and Malcolm v Kevin and Heather.
Not a good start by Keith and Malcolm and they were 0-7 down after only 3 ends and that hadn’t improved much by the halfway stage with the score now 4-15.
Steady scoring by Heather and Kevin kept the shot gap quite wide with Keith and Malcolm conceding after the 17 end with the score at
Keith Heather,
9 - 24
Malcolm Kevin.
Well played Heather and Kevin.
Rink 6. Carol and Roger v
Marion and Caryl.
Carol and Roger certainly made the better start and by the halfway stage had built a lead with a score of 13-4. It was always going to be tough for Marion and Caryl make much inroad with the 9 shot difference but they done well with a couple of good ends towards the finish but conceded with one end to play and a final score of
Carol Marion.
21 v 12
Roger Caryl.
Well done Carol and Roger good luck in the next round.

Sat afternoon and the away friendly with Princes Risborough.
5 mxdt over 18 ends. Nice warm and sunny with a threat of rain late in the afternoon.
Rink. 2.
1. Lee Jaycock,
2. Michael Meacham,
Skip. Stuart Churcher.
The shots were evenly spread around in this one although Risborough did have the lead at
1-7 after just 4 ends. We then picked up a few shots to get the score to 7-9 and that became
12-12 with 4 ends to play. Three shots from the last 4 ends was just enough to get us to the winning score of
Broadway 15-13 Risborough.

Rink. 3.
1. Sarah Jaycock,
2. Carol Crick,
Skip. Bill Caple.
The first five ends were scoreless but luckily Risborough only got 5 singles so the score at that stage wasn’t a disaster at 0-5. Two multi
shot ends got the score to 7-7 with 9 ends to play. Only 3 blank
ends in the second half steadily built the score and at the close it was
Broadway 18-12 Risborough.

Rink. 4.
1. Janet,
2. Malcolm,
Skip. Roger.
A good start to be 8-1 up after 5 ends but that changed very quickly with the score getting to
10-12 after 9 ends. The second 9 ends were a lot closer with the lead changing a couple of times the 4 we got on the 14th end was a great help and gave us a little leeway and ended with a very close score of
Broadway 19-18 Risborough.

Rink. 5.
1. Keith Dellar,
2. Ray England,
Skip. Caryl Collins.
We started ok and at the halfway stage had a narrow lead at 8-5.
The second 9 ends didn’t go our way at all with Risborough scoring 16 shots in just 4 ends that took the score out of our reach , the last 2 ends did go to us but the gap was to big and the final score was
Broadway 12-23 Risborough.

Rink. 6.
1. Matthew Crick,
2. Kieran Jaycock,
Skip. Thomas Jaycock.
The boys were surprisingly a shot down at 5-6 after 9 ends but that soon changed and they started to put the shots together and closed out the game with a final score of
Broadway 19-10 Risborough.
Aggregate, 83-75. Won.
Rinks. 4-1. Won.

Still on Friday evening and the 3
W&D Triples to be played but that changed to only 2 when Kieran, Thomas and Matthew were given a W/O result by their opponents Radlett. They decided on a good roll up session instead.

Rink. 4. v Potten End
1. Paul, Steve,
2. Lee, Rhys,
Skip. Chris. Terry.
It didn’t start well for us by only winning 3 of the first 9 ends that made the score 4-13 down and not looking good. From then on we started to chip away at the score and we probably should have got the result on the 18th end but it wasn’t to be and the scores were level at 16-16 with an extra end to play in diminishing light. The 1 scored on the 19th end gave us the win with the score at 17-16.
Well done all for staying with it in the poor light. You will see from my pics how the light was at the end.

Rink. ?? Gerrards Cross.
1. Roger, Tony,
2. Sam, Gary,
Skip. Paul. John.
A good first 9 ends that pushed the score along to 12-4 in our favour. The second 9 we’re not quite as productive but the score was ticking over and the lead maintained to give a final score of
16-10 . Well played .

It has been a busy weekend for the club with 3 Club Pairs matches being played as well as
3 Watford&District Triples, and also an away friendly with
Princes Risborough on Sat afternoon.
The first game I will mention is the one on Friday evening between Sarah and Debbie v
Lee Adams and Lewis.
The girls started well and soon were 5-0 up but a 4 from Lee and Lewis got the scores close and by end 11 it was 12-12. Then 5 no score ends allowed Lee and Lewis to get to 20-12 with 2 ends to play but the 8 shot lead was just to much and the game ended with the final score of 20-14 in Lee and Lewis’s favour. Well played Sarah and Debbie.

As I understand it the VPs don’t often get wins with these sort of scores so well played all . It was good to watched and the 2 course meal after the game was very nice.
