Had a brief encounter at the pub with a mate. It was worth it. He handed over cheque for £90. Outstanding invoice to a local organisation.

The brief encounter and I tentatively agreed to stimulate the possibility of a veterans versus the 30ishs aka our children and their mates on the Friday 22nd afternoon before the August bank holiday beer festival. Are you up for it?

The image was one of my first beer festivals. I found it in the saddle bag of a bike I bought and gave it to Jo.

Officers were disappointed to see that two males didn’t want to hang around and chat with us at the Cricket Pavilion yesterday evening (Thursday 8th April 2021) in Cheriton near Alresford, having been seen trying to gain entry into the building at around 10pm. PCSO’s GRIFFITHS & MILLS gave chase where one of the male’s couldn’t get away quick enough so decided to leave his bicycle for us to look after for safekeeping.

Police are currently making enquiries to establish who this bike belongs to. Anyone who may have any information as to the potential culprits/ owner of the bicycle please contact Hampshire Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 44210134466.

Today we will be playing our “Rock and Roll” last game of cricket against the Vicars Approximate Eleven. If you would like to play for the Cheriton Approximate Eleven please rock up before 12 today at the ground. Food provided!

The rain will stop in a few minutes and the ground will be dry by then.

In case you were wondering the sun has set at Cheriton Cricket Club. Not enough members. There is cash in the bank for anyone who wishes to revive the club. Message us here or visit http://www.cheritoncc.com/contacts/ to get contact details of the past officers of the club.

But as you can see the ground is being well maintained. Clubs and private groups are booking it for games. Please contact the groundsman Paul Greenwood to book the ground on 01962 771964

Our second 5K Fun Run in the Cheriton countryside is this Sunday 10th July. Registration at 10am on the Village Green. Start at 10:30. Finish at the cricket pavilion on the recreation ground where you will find ample parking. Free refreshments and biscuits at the pavilion for runners/walkers. Dogs are welcome.

Entry is free. Optional donations equally shared between the club and Marie Curie.
