Well, you ladies, have just gone and done it again! 😊😊Away to St Julian’s this afternoon: bright, breezy…no rain, no big temperatures!
From the, “oh no’s;” “she has done it again;” well she it’s not a dead end now!” that emanated from our other rink, I knew they were having “a cracking match!”
Quickly ahead: 13~2.
Yes, St J picked up 3 shots, and Chepstow carried on: 18~19,20! Chris Fletcher, sorted a potential “dead end.” Sandra O’Leary pulling in some sintilating shots! Both ably backed by Angela and Jan Bowen. Great score ladies! 20~13.
Play was frustrating for our other rink… Lynne G and Chrissy working the green, finding the lines. Then the St J’s skip comes in and does her job! Quickly 4~1 down. Changed tactics, sorted the skip: 7~4 ahead.
9 ends complete: 7~7… all to play for! We were “on it” with a super 3! However, St J’s niggled in and there we were: 13th end: 10~10… ugh! We all played our part, but the highlight was Meryl driving through ( when we were 2/3 down)… took both wood and Jack right, right back: grabbing the play! Yes!
It was a slow slog. We got there to take the game: 15~14.
What a team!

Memorial Day
Sunday June 7th

Huge congratulations to this year’s Memorial Cup winners, Avril Allen and Pete Bailey! A big shoutout to our fantastic finalists, Linda Manson and Les Horder.

It was a memorable day filled with great company, friendly competition, and a strong sense of community. Most importantly, we took the time to honor and remember our former members, who are always in our thoughts.

Thank you to Mike and Lynn Wingrove for organizing the event, along with their helpers Heather and Elizabeth, and to everyone who joined us to make the day so special!

A Great Day of Bowling for the Chepstow ladies Panteg House Bowls club!

Angela and Christine both secured their first wins.

Lynne and Sheila pushed their games all the way to 19-19 before each dropping 2 points on their final ends.

Angela and Christine then faced each other in a nail-biteing 28 ends! After a close competitive game Christine won 21–19. Well done Christine — through to the next round!

Cornwall Tour 2026
A huge thank you to everyone at Wadebridge Bowling Club, Looe Bowling Club, West End Bowling Club Newquay, Mylor Bridge Bowling Club and Heavitree Bowling Club for such a warm welcome and for hosting some truly brilliant games during our tour.
Although the weather was against us at times, we powered through the wind and hail, producing some excellent bowling and plenty of fun and laughter throughout the week.
It may have been a full-on schedule, but it was absolutely worth it! A big shout-out to Mark Handcock for keeping everything running so smoothly, no easy task!
Finally, congratulations to our top scorers, Colin Fletcher and Sheila Harris!

Great day for the club yesterday, 3 wins in 3 leagues.
Ladies won against Islwyn Lovely ladies, 18 - 10 to Chepstow Ladies 😊
GBL team won 58-53 despite losing on 2 of the 3 rinks at home against Cwmbran Park in a close fought game taking 8 points.
And the men’s MBA team had their first win of the season, a fabulous well fought win at Beechwood 3 rinks to 1 winning 78-75 and taking 12 points.
Congratulations all round.
