Three is the magic number!

Registration is now open for the 3rd UKHGA Haidong Gumdo® Open Championships!

Join us in Cheltenham on Saturday 17 October 2026 for a full day of Haidong Gumdo®, beginning with a special championship seminar led by Master Chul Kyung Lee, EUHGA Technical Director, followed by an exciting programme of individual, group and one-to-one events.

The championships are open to current UKHGA, EUHGA and WHGF members of all grades. Spectators are very welcome and admission is free.

The Ireland Haidong Gumdo® Association is pleased to announce its Ireland National Seminar, taking place over two days at Kilcock Community Centre, Co. Kildare.

🗓 Saturday 26 September 2026
• 13:00–15:00 – Open session for everyone
• 15:00–18:00 – Registered Haidong Gumdo students

🗓 Sunday 27 September 2026
• 10:00–14:00 – Registered Haidong Gumdo students

The seminar will be led by Master Harry Limer, National Leader of the Ireland and UK Haidong Gumdo Associations.

Well that was a little different!! 🏖️⚔️

A fantastic weekend of Haidong Gumdo training on the beach. Sand, sea, swords and of course… dunes! 😅

A huge Kamsahamnida to everyone who came along and threw themselves into the training.

A fantastic couple of days learning at Hwang Yong Dojang. 👊🥋

Members of the UKHGA were privileged to train under EUHGA Technical Director, Master Chul Kyung Lee, during an excellent Haidong Gumdo training session.

Throughout the day, Master Lee shared his extensive knowledge and experience, covering everything from fundamentals and body mechanics to technical application, partner work and sword handling. The attention to detail and individual guidance provided valuable learning opportunities for practitioners of all grades.

The day also included a special moment as Ben Sampson of Cheong Yong Dojang received his Jingum from Master Lee. Congratulations, Ben, on this well-deserved milestone.

A sincere thank you to Master Lee for his continued support of the UKHGA and for another inspiring day of training.

🏆🇬🇧 Congratulations to Tom Collingwood on representing the UKHGA at the 5th German Open Haidong Gumdo Championships in Köln.

Tom achieved:

🥉 Bronze – Paper Cutting
🥈 Silver – Gumbub
🥇 Gold – Sparring

An outstanding achievement and a fantastic representation of both the UKHGA and the United Kingdom on the international stage.

Our sincere thanks to the German Haidong Gumdo Association for hosting an excellent championship and for their warm hospitality.

Special thanks also to European Technical Director Master Lee for his support and guidance throughout the event.
