Today marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, is celebrated on May 8th to mark the formal end of World War II in Europe. On this day in 1945, N**i Germany officially surrendered to the Allied forces, bringing an end to nearly six years of war in Europe.

The Tower of London have installed 30,000 poppies to commemorate this day. The installation will be on display until 11th November, culminating in a moment of remembrance for Armistice Day.
