Regional league Meet 1 Results! ⚔️⚔️

The new season begins with two tough matches against London Saints 1 and London Sinners!

With some great teamwork we won both matches! It was a great morning of dodgeball and we look forward to the next! ⚔️⚔️

22-4 vs Sinners

Essex Swords travelled to for a fantastic weekend !

The Swords battled through wind and rain to bring home the winning trophy 🏆 👏

Regional League Finale! ⚔️⚔️

The final event for swords was Sunday at Barking after a long and great season!

We first played Imperial who brought a fantastic team. It was great for us to see how much more we can learn playing against this! It was a tough match coming up against some great throwing power! Final score was 24-2 to imperial.

Second game was vs who are looking just as good as imperial. We started well keeping the match close but sadly couldn’t keep up with the well drilled Saints! Final Score 5-17 to Saints!

We can now rest after a month of weekend dodgeball! Training still continues throughout the summer at Waterside Leisure Centre 8-9:30pm on Wednesdays!! ⚔️⚔️

National League 4 Champions!! ⚔️⚔️

The swords made the journey one more time to Coventry for the final league meet of the season! With the league almost wrapped up it was crucial we didn’t slip up now after a great season!

First match against saw a very close game all throughout! Coming down to a final set to decide a winner! With some clutch catching we manage to secure the victory! Final score 13-11

Second match vs 3rds was a younger team who had some great countering on show! Our experience and teamwork got us through to a 16-8 win!

We finish the season unbeaten which is a great achievement in itself!! ⚔️⚔️

Well done to all the teams we have played! It’s been great fun in this league and at a great venue! Thank you

We look forward to the South National League next season!

Shoutout to Jake Berris for making his national league debut and putting in some great performances! 🥳

National League Round 6 - SWORDS STILL UNDEFEATED ⚔️

Crunch time for the swords saw them face both competitors challenging for title! First up was who were clearly well prepared for this match with a great lineup! The match saw us take a commanding lead into half time with some amazing dodging on display! Naturally it was time to have a meltdown and lose the following 3-4 sets! Credit to Spartans for bringing the score back! Sadly for them the swords stood strong and battle out for a very deserving 15-11 win! 👏🙏 It was an amazing match to play in with such a large crowd watching and getting involved (Even if it was mainly Spartans players 😂).

After beating Spartans we had who could now leap Spartans. We knew this would be the tougher match playing a team who’s been in great form and is getting better and better each meet (Please stop)

It was a bruising contest with their large throws taking a while to adjust to. We got dialled in and started making some outrageous catches! We played well as a team and was leading the contest for most the match! Sadly we couldn’t quite get over the line and ended up having to claw back a draw which was a result we were very happy with! 14-14 was the final score! Personally it was my favourite match to play all season! ⚔️

Sharpest Swords - for some pretty causal three, four and five vs 1 clutch plays.

National League Meet 4! ⚔️

Another trip to Coventry completed and in typical Swords fashion we made the day very eventful and even more stressful 😅

After a great start going 8-0 up played very well equalising the score at 8-8! We got in a comfortable position towards the end and made sure the game ended 14-12 as this seems to be the only scoreline we know!

Onto the second game and sadly we just could not get anything going making the match extremely tough! We tried to make it 4 results of 14-12 in a row but could only manage a 12-12 draw! 😩

Big shoutout to Leicester for some great dodgeballing! Both games could’ve gone either way!

National League Meet 4.

ESSEX SWORDS REMAIN UNDEFEATED.

The Swords first took on Leeds Barn Owls 🦉 It was a great start to the match, with the Swords 12-2 up. BIG credit to Leeds as they came back fighting bringing final score 14-12.

The Swords then played Leamington Spartans. This was a BIG game as both leading teams went face to face.
It was back and forth all game with both teams playing well. Fortunately, the Swords made a vital catch, changing the game.

WELL DONE TO BOTH TEAMS - We look forward to playing again in the new year! 👏
