Wrapping up the summer in style! 🏏☀️

Charlton Kings CC played out the final game of our season last night, hosting Colwinston Cricket Club from Glamorgan for a T20 friendly to kick off their tour.

A massive thank you to the touring squad for such a fantastic game full of laughter and for being brilliant opponents.

Safe travels for the rest of your tour, and who knows - we might just have to take you up on that offer of a return fixture in South Wales in the future! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Charlton Kings wrapped up a superb club season with our awards night yesterday, and a massive thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate.

We're currently sorting through the photos and will share a link soon - huge thanks to Vik for capturing the evening!

🍔 A special shoutout goes to “BBQ Steve,” who officially earned his prestigious title last night and also a club t-shirt!

What was meant to be helping out for just one week back in April turned into a full-summer stint.

He truly embraced the CKCC spirit by running the BBQ every single Friday during youth training. Steve was always smiling, loved managing the grill, and wouldn’t let anyone else take over 🤣. He properly rallied the troops🤌🏻

Even when he couldn't make it, he managed to arrange cover - ironically by, a good friend also named Steve 🤣.

Thank you, BBQ Steve! 🤝

A final, huge thank you goes out to all of the club's volunteers - whether that’s youth coaches, ground staff, BBQ Steve, or committee members, you name it.

This dedication is why the club is in such a great position, and it's something we should be ever so grateful for when we see sports clubs around the country closing down.

As we head into the off-season, the work will continue as we now start to prepare for next season 🙏

On behalf of the whole club, thank you all for an incredible season!

The men's league season is officially wrapped up, and what an almighty finish it was yesterday!

Massive congratulations to our 2nd and 3rd XI, who have both been crowned CHAMPIONS of their divisions! A truly sensational performance right down the wire at Chedworth for the 3rds, who leaned into that mentality and secured the title by just 1 single point!

Across the board, it's been a phenomenal season with every single team finishing in the top half of their respective divisions.

There are definitely a few sore heads floating around after last night's celebrations at the clubhouse, but what an incredible atmosphere it was.

The celebrations aren't over yet - our club presentation night is next Friday, where we'll come together to look back and celebrate the entire club's successes this year.

Final League Games of the Season 😢

It's the last weekend of league matches for the season, and there is still everything to play for across the board. Hopefully the weather holds out for our five teams in action!

The club's committee is thrilled to announce that we will be relaunching a women’s hardball team for the 2027 season.

This exciting development is a massive step forward in our mission to bring women’s hardball cricket back to Charlton Kings, creating a complete pathway for players at every stage:

🌱 The Roots: Girls-only Dynamos and our U13 team
⭐ The Present: Our very well-established Women’s Softball team
🚀 The Future: Our 2027 hardball team, completing a fantastic base for cricket for all women

This exciting new chapter will be driven by passionate club members. Our team will be led by bona fide club member and current Glamorgan Women's Star Bea Ellis. Bea will be supported by her dad, a well-known club player and member, Julian Ellis for the off field management.

Further details around the women’s hardball team will be confirmed in due course, but if you’re interested in joining, please let us know! We will also be running winter training sessions to prepare.

To add to this fantastic news, we are also hosting a major event this week!

Join us tomorrow evening (Tuesday at 6:00 PM) as Charlton Kings CC proudly hosts the GCF Women’s Hardball Hundred final at Ryeworth as a neutral venue, featuring Dumbleton vs Hatherley & Reddings. Come on up to watch some brilliant cricket!
