What do you want for your daughters???? I want my daughter to grow up knowing that her body is not something she needs to make smaller. ❤️
I want her to know that being strong is something to be proud of. 💪
That food isn’t something to fear or earn.
That her body deserves to be fuelled, nourished, challenged and cared for not restricted. 🫶
This summer, my daughter asked to come into my gym for a training session. This turned into a booked PT strength session each week. 💪
Honestly, this picture means everything to me. 🥰
She’s coming up to 14, and at an age where girls can so easily be made to feel that their worth is connected to how they look, I want to give her a different message.
I don’t want to teach her to be skinny.
I want to teach her to be strong.
Strong enough to run further.
Strong enough to jump higher.
Strong enough to compete.
Strong enough to recover.
Strong enough to feel confident in her own body.
Strong enough to take on whatever life throws at her.
And now she’s back playing football and netball, I can genuinely see the difference. Her stamina, her strength, her confidence and her performance have all changed.🔥
But do you know what makes me happiest?
She loves it. 🙌
She loves getting stronger. She loves seeing what her body can do. And we get to do it together. ❤️
I want her to understand that looking after your body isn’t about chasing the smallest version of yourself.
It’s about creating the strongest, healthiest, happiest and most capable version of yourself.
Fuel your body with the food it needs.
Nourish it.
Move it.
Rest it.
Challenge it.
Respect it.
Because your body is going to carry you through your entire life.
Teach our girls to appreciate what their bodies can DO, not just what they look like.
Strong over skinny.
Fuelled over restricted.
Capable over small.
That’s the message I want my daughter to grow up with.
