With one project nearly complete, the next exciting chapter is about to begin… ⚽️🎾

It’s been fantastic to watch our new All Weather Pitch (AWP) take shape at Cleeve School and Sixth Form Centre of Excellence.

What started as an idea is now becoming a fantastic new facility that will provide more opportunities for our students, local clubs and the wider community to get active, play sport and enjoy the facilities on our doorstep.

But we’re not stopping there… 👀

Our next proposed project is a Seasonal Covered Sports Dome 🎾

The aim is to create a flexible, weather-protected facility that could provide year-round opportunities for tennis, netball, pickleball and other activities — helping to make better use of our existing sports facilities whatever the weather.

And this is where we need your help. 👇

We have now launched a public consultation and we really want to hear from:

🏡 Local residents
🎾 Sports Centre users
🏃‍♂️ Local sports clubs
🏫 Students, parents and staff
🤝 Community groups
🌟 Anyone who would like to see more opportunities to get active locally

🎾⚽ Continuing our investment in community sport at Cleeve Sports Centre
We are delighted to confirm that the new All-Weather Pitch at Cleeve Sports Centre is almost complete, creating a fantastic new facility for schools, clubs and the wider community.
The response to the project has already demonstrated the huge demand for accessible, high-quality sports facilities in Bishops Cleeve and the surrounding area, with bookings for the pitch already showing exceptionally strong interest.
Building on this success, we are now exploring the next stage of our community sports development – a proposed covered Sports Dome.

The proposed facility would:
✅ Provide year-round access to tennis and netball, regardless of weather conditions
✅ Increase opportunities for children, families, adults and older residents to participate in sport
✅ Support community clubs, coaching and recreational activities
✅ Introduce opportunities for pickleball, walking sports and inclusive activities
✅ Improve access for wheelchair users and residents with disabilities
✅ Provide affordable, local opportunities to be active and improve health and wellbeing

💫Cirque du Dance has a SEND Aerial Circus Taster Sessions that are designed to give children a calm, supportive space where they can build confidence at their own pace

Whether your child joins in straight away, takes their time, or prefers to watch at first, they are here to support them in a way that works best for them

🌟 A gentle, confidence-building introduction to aerial hoop & silks
🌟 Small, calm sessions (maximum 8 children)

Families eligible for benefits-related free school meals can register now for the winter HAF. Thanks to grant funding, the county council is extending these fun, enriching holiday activities to all children and young people through the Holiday Activities Programme (HAP).
