๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ MORNING BRIEFING โ€” SUNDAY 10 AUGUST ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ

No major festival today โ€” this is your classic British-Irish Sunday card, and it still packs a punch.

27 races across 4 tracks in 2 countries. Here's the shape of the day:

๐Ÿ‡ AYR leads the way with 8 flat races from 13:45 BST. Good to good-soft ground, a 2yo EBF Maiden Fillies' opener sets the tone โ€” sharp juveniles on a summer Sunday in Scotland. This is where the serious flat punters will be watching.

๐Ÿ‡ KEMPTON (AW) fires up from 14:30 on the Polytrack โ€” 6 all-weather flat races, reliable surface, reliable fields. Handicap core, straightforward formbook.

๐Ÿ‡ WINDSOR goes evening, 6 flat races from 17:45 BST. The Thames-side track under the summer sun โ€” always popular with the after-work crowd and the evening accumulators.

๐Ÿ‡ BALLINROBE across the Irish Sea provides the only jumps action of the day โ€” 7 National Hunt races from 17:26 BST. Connaught jumping on a Sunday evening, proper sport.

21 flat races. 7 jumps. Maiden stakes, handicaps, classified contests and NH action โ€” something for every punter.

๐Ÿ’ฐ DAILY RECAP ๐Ÿ’ฐ

The story of the Shergar Cup at Ascot today wasn't Ryan Moore โ€” it was the newcomers.

Team Hong Kong made their inaugural appearance at the Shergar Cup and immediately meant business, winning the first two races on the card. Jerry Chau got the ball rolling on Tuco Salamanca (4-1) in the 5f Dash, quickening impressively in the final furlong to beat team-mate Vincent Ho's mount Gold Star Hero by a length and a half. That's a one-two for Hong Kong before most punters had finished their first cup of tea.

Then Luke Ferraris followed up in the Stayers, driving home Dancing In Paris to give the debutant team an extraordinary grip on the early points table.

For context โ€” the team was installed at 8/1 before racing. GB&I, captained by Saffie Osborne and boasting Ryan Moore and Dylan Browne-McMonagle, were 2/5 favourites. Moore did eventually get on the board โ€” his 178th winner at Ascot โ€” but Hong Kong had already set the tone.

Chau and Ferraris both described their first wins at Ascot as a dream. On this evidence, it was a rude awakening for the opposition.

Six races. Four teams. One extraordinary debut. That's Shergar Cup day done. ๐Ÿ‡

๐Ÿ“‰ MARKET MOVERS ๐Ÿ“‰

The money is already talking across 29 races and 7 meetings this Friday โ€” and two names are screaming louder than the rest.

๐ŸŸข OPERATION GIMCRACK โ€” STEAMING. Opened 14/1, now into 10/3. That's a massive move driven purely by punter backing, not scratchings. Something's clearly caught the market's eye here.

๐Ÿ”ด IL CAPO โ€” DRIFTING. Gone the other way โ€” out from 14/1 to 28/1. The support simply isn't there, and that drift is telling a story of its own.

These two are the standout movers as of the morning show, but the markets are still moving across today's full card. Our members get the full picture โ€” the races, the context, the selections โ€” before the off.

๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ MORNING BRIEFING โ€” SATURDAY 8 AUGUST ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ

Saturday is the big one. Eight tracks, two countries, 54 races โ€” and Ascot is the place to be.

The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup takes centre stage at Ascot today โ€” the unique team-based format that pits jockeys from around the world against each other across six competitive flat handicaps. Good to firm ground, the sun (mostly) out, and ITV cameras rolling from the first race at 13:35. It doesn't get much better mid-season.

Over at Haydock, the Group 3 Rose of Lancaster Stakes is the form students' race of the day โ€” a proper test for older horses over a mile and a quarter. Newmarket's July Course adds the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes to the ITV mix, giving the two-year-old fillies their moment.

Across the Irish Sea, Wexford and Kilbeggan both card seven-race jumps programmes โ€” a reminder that National Hunt never fully sleeps, even in August. Redcar, Ayr and Lingfield's Polytrack round out an eight-card day with plenty of flat handicaps to get stuck into.

54 races. From 13:35 to after 20:00. The members' picks are locked and loaded.

๐Ÿ’ฐ DAILY RECAP ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Thursday kept the racing rolling across three countries โ€” and there was no shortage of storylines.

Newmarket was the headline act on the Flat, racing on Good to Firm ground under sunny skies. The Knight Frank-sponsored card delivered a quality afternoon along the Rowley Mile, with apprentice and novice action mixed in alongside the more established handicap fare โ€” the kind of day that separates genuine improvers from horses flattered by soft ground elsewhere.

Over at Sandown, the evening card brought seven races and a solid spread of distances from 5f to 1m2f. Evening meetings at Sandown are rarely dull โ€” tight track, plenty of pace, and a crowd that knows what it's watching.

Across the Irish Sea, Sligo was running a full seven-race National Hunt card. Sligo is a tight, testing track โ€” not a place for the fainthearted โ€” and today's card mixed bumpers and hurdles over marathon trips, with plenty of non-runners earlier in the week due to going concerns. Those that lined up ran on genuinely testing terrain.

And worth flagging from Wednesday night: Kempton's all-weather card threw up a 25/1 winner, a reminder that the AW markets aren't always as sharp as punters assume.

Chepstow, meanwhile, has been marking its centenary this week with a string of sponsored races โ€” a nod to a track that's been part of the British racing fabric for 100 years. Not bad for a Thursday.

๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ MORNING BRIEFING โ€” FRIDAY 7 AUGUST ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ

Galway is done. The dust has settled. Now racing spreads right across the map on a proper seven-track Friday.

Seven meetings. Two countries. A full day of Flat action from the off.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง UK โ€” Five tracks fire up today:
๐Ÿ“ Brighton leads the way on prize money โ€” the Brighton Mile Challenge Handicap (ยฃ20,000) headlines a card stacked with EBF novice action worth ยฃ13,000 a pop.
๐Ÿ“ Haydock is back on the schedule after a layoff โ€” always a big draw for northern punters.
๐Ÿ“ Newmarket (July) keeps the summer Flat flame burning.
๐Ÿ“ Musselburgh and Thirsk round out a strong northern contingent.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Ireland โ€” Two evening fixtures:
๐Ÿ“ Gowran Park brings quality Flat action to Kilkenny.
๐Ÿ“ Wexford adds a second Irish card under the evening lights.

Post-Galway, the festival crowd disperses โ€” but the racing rolls straight on. Brighton and Haydock are your two standout tracks today. The card shapes are a mix of handicaps, EBF novice stakes, and open flat competition across the classes.

๐Ÿ’ฐ DAILY RECAP ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Wednesday's card was a proper midweek spread โ€” five tracks, plenty of racing, and the market doing what it loves to do: keeping punters honest.

Pontefract and Brighton handled the afternoon Flat action, with Kempton and Yarmouth taking over into the evening under the lights. Over in Ireland, Sligo kept jumps fans busy with a seven-race card of its own.

The bigger story, though, is the one Galway left us with when it closed its gates on Sunday. Four consecutive feature races โ€” Monday through Thursday โ€” all went to double-figure prices. 18/1. 16/1. 20/1. 10/1. Four days, four crunching results for the jolly backers. That's the Galway Plate and the Galway Hurdle โ€” Ireland's two biggest summer handicaps โ€” both landing at big prices in the same week. The market rarely lies for long, but at Ballybrit last week, it was shouting the wrong name every single day.

Back on home soil today, the midweek grind rolls on. Five tracks, form to digest, and Thursday's card already taking shape.

๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ MORNING BRIEFING โ€” WEDNESDAY 6 AUGUST ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ

Glorious Goodwood is done. Galway's still very much alive.

Wednesday brings another full mid-week slate across UK and Ireland โ€” roughly six tracks in action, mixing Flat and National Hunt cards. That means maiden fillies' stakes, handicaps, EBF novice races and NH action including beginners chases all on the same afternoon and evening. Plenty of angles, plenty of runners.

Galway is the standout venue today. The festival rolls on at Ballybrit and it remains the busiest and most competitive Irish card of the week โ€” a real mix of Flat and jumps, quality fields, and sharp markets.

On the UK side, mid-week Flat cards are in full swing โ€” EBF-qualified maiden fillies' divisions and handicaps filling out the cards at the English tracks. Good, honest mid-week racing. The kind of card where value lurks if you know where to look.

๐Ÿ’ฐ DAILY RECAP ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Wednesday belonged to the underdogs โ€” and Galway made sure of it.

Three tracks were in action across UK and Ireland today, with Galway's summer NH card once again serving up the kind of carnage the festival is famous for. Fields of 18, 19, and 20 runners across hurdles and chases โ€” these are not races for the faint-hearted, and the market has been taking its lumps all week.

Over at Sligo, the 2-year-old maiden over 6 furlongs on good-to-yielding ground produced one of the day's talking points. Felix Somary, trained by John O'Donoghue and ridden by R P Whelan, landed the Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden at 7/1 โ€” beating the well-fancied 9/4 favourite Raphello (from the JP O'Brien yard, ridden by Donagh McMonagle) by just a head in a driving finish. Ten runners, a photo for the judges, and a 7/1 winner. Classic summer racing.

Galway continues to be the heartbeat of the Irish summer. Competitive, unforgiving, and absolutely appointment viewing. If you've been keeping an eye on the market movers this week, you'll know the patterns โ€” form students and value hunters have had plenty to work with.

๐Ÿ“‰ MARKET MOVERS ๐Ÿ“‰

Five tracks. Dozens of races. And the markets are already shifting.

Ripon, Nottingham, Windsor, Naas and Cork are all live today โ€” and across those cards, the early money is telling a story on at least three runners worth watching closely.

When a horse moves significantly through betting alone โ€” not through a scratching, not through a market adjustment โ€” that's informed money. Connections, shrewd operators, or simply a yard confident in what they're sending out.

Our members get the movers flagged as they happen, with the from-price, the current price, and the race context to go with it. That's the edge.
