It’s been a while, so I thought I’d re-introduce myself.
I’m Jolie, the head kickboxing coach at Kinetic Martial arts. I’ve been training in kickboxing for about 22 years and I started teaching kids in 2010. I set up Kinetic in 2011 when my old training buddy Gary opened Chelmsford City Martial Arts centre. I’m now a 5th Dan black belt in kickboxing. I also have my first degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu where I teach at my club
The club has gone from strength to strength, increasing the kids classes and adding adults classes.
Over the years I have graded 14 people to their black belt and our highest grades are June & Gemma who are second Dan’s, and Thomas who also gained his second Dan with me. Ive been teaching Thomas since he was 4 years old and now he’s 19!
June & Gemma teach a brilliant Tuesday class and they step in to cover when I need time off.
Gemma has just started teaching a SEN kids class on Thursdays at 5pm and June completed her BSc (Hons) in sports and fitness coaching this year.
Every class has coaches and junior coaches to help build the confidence of kids and adults alike. The one thing I’ve always focus on with kickboxing, is the enjoyment of the martial art. Every class is fun, so the hard work doesn’t feel like hard work, and progress is made in every class.
We run two gradings per year for new belts and every month the kids get to work towards earning their badges.
Kickboxing can also act as the physical assessment for a child taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh award, so worth getting in touch if your child will be taking part.
