Word of the Week: Fear

Fear stops more people than failure ever will.
Most people don’t fail because they can’t do something…
They fail because they never try in the first place.

In training we see this all the time.
Students afraid to grade.
Afraid to spar.
Afraid to make mistakes.
Afraid they’re not good enough.

But confidence doesn’t come before action…
It comes after you face what scares you.

This week in class we remind our students:
Don’t let fear destroy the dream.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums in our Schools of Kung Fu family 🌸

Shout out to the mums who…
✔ Drive to class every week
✔ Sit in the car waiting for training to finish
✔ Know the grading dates better than the kids
✔ Wash the uniform 100 times
✔ Remind them to practise
✔ Pay the fees
✔ And still hear…
“I don’t want to go today…”

Then 45 minutes later they come out smiling like nothing happened 😄

Special respect to the mums who have also heard…
“Did you bring my belt?”
“Did you bring my water bottle?”
“What time is class again?”

We don’t just train the kids…
We train the parents too 👊

Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads in our Schools of Kung Fu Essex community.

Today we also take a moment to honour the father figures in our martial arts journey – the masters and teachers who have guided us, challenged us, and helped shape who we are both on and off the mats.

From the parents who support their children through every class, to the SiFus who dedicate their lives to passing on this art, we are grateful for the strength, wisdom and patience you show every day.

Just a quick reminder that there will be no classes on Bank Holiday Monday, as we’re closed for the day.

If you usually train on a Monday, you’re welcome to attend our Wednesday class instead. Please use your booking system to secure your space.
