Maldon And District Air Rifle Club HFT Air r***e club Over the last 15 years, Maldon and District Air R***e Club, has become the premier air gun shooting club in the South East of England.

We are lucky to have a large and growing membership of plinkers, family's and tournament shooters alike. We also have one of the most successful shooting teams in the country today and they have won the UKAHFT team trophy for the past 10 years. Some of our members travel considerable distances to attend and enjoy the clubs facilities and we are fortunate enough to have several ranges available. Th

is means that we are able to cater for a whole range of shooting disciplines and this diversity in styles is what makes M.A.D unique. We have monthly Hunter Field Target (HFT) competitions in our woodland and weekly shooting competitions on our meadow course. Our plinking ranges goes out to 70 and 50 yards respectively, for those who want to practice Field Target and long range shooting and our practice HFT course (set to UKAHFT specification) is always available to members. For those that don't want to compete and just want to have a place to plink, we have an excellent practice area with ample space for more than 30 shooters and covered ranges for those inclement days. On top of this we have a warm dry clubhouse, with free tea and coffee making facilities and there is a gas hob too for you to cook with. We have running water and the best Ladies and Gent's toilets around. Members have access to the site 365 days a year, from dawn until dusk. With only an annual membership to pay, members pay no daily range fee's, however, there is a small charge for competitions. If you would like to visit the club we have a midweek shoot every Wednesday evening throughout the summer and the first Sunday of every month. If you'd like to initially visit at another time then simply give us a ring and we can arrange a visit at a time that suits. You will always be assured of a very warm welcome!!!

Not a bad turn out considering other clubs clashed this month. A lovely warm day too and as promised, no wind.

MAD SUNDAY MONTHLY HFT SHOOT 06-09-2026

Don't forget that it's the MAD Sunday Monthly this weekend, with your chance to shoot a brand new, Federation approved HFT course. We are famed for our high quality courses and this experience is bought to you by the infamous course setter Ian Dancey. This challenging course will either improve you, or see you wheelspinning out the car park in a rage.

The weather forecast is for near tropical conditions and of course, NO WIND.
We'll be in the woodland of tranquility, where every shot is a guaranteed 2 points.
We've put every target in the most sheltered place possible, and massive 40mm hit zones to help enable those BIG SCORES.
So if you haven't shot with us before, now's your chance to come and have some fun.

This will be a 31 shot course, as the "golden gibbon" is waiting to test your skills.

Please note that this is a NO FOOD EVENT.

After the shoot we will also be giving away a fortune in cash at our raffle and more of our coveted, pure 24 carat gold effect medals and as a bonus, the very rare and sort after, stolen golden sausage dog badges.

KICK OFF IS AT 10am, but you must have booked in by 9:45am, so that the booking in people can prepare for shooting. If you turn up after 9:45, expect a day on the plinking range.

Sorry for the delay in posting the results. This is for last Sunday.

I wasn't at the shoot, but looking at the scores I can tell that it was WINDLESS and every target was 40mm.
I hope everyone had fun and glad to see that Ben has now found his dummy. 💪

MAD Sunday Monthly and Pistol League results 07:06:26.

As promised, we were greeted with a tropical, windless day, so people made hay, whilst the sun literally shone.
Big shout out to Anwar who came in with a solid 100% after a health related lay off and well done to our juniors and newbies alike, who came in with some great scores.
I had the pleasure of shooting with the lovely Jennie and Vince and it was great to see Vinny CRUMBLE after threatening to slaughter me on the course. Please find picture of today's excuses below.
The Pistol League is now in full swing and it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves.
