Saturday saw the final of the Writtle Hospital Cup, which is a competition for clubs in the Chelmsford area in support of the Little Havens Hospice. A lovely sunny afternoon saw some good bowls and a friendly game between Chelmsford bowling club and Tillingham bowling club. Also played was the Writtle internal competition the Hospital Plate.
Congratulations to Tillingham the eventual winners and well played Chelmsford.
Thanks to all the helpers and organisers looking forward to next year.

Writtle BC on Tour.
Over 40 members of Writtle BC have just returned from our tour on the Isle of Wight, based in Shanklin at the Channel View Hotel. The five clubs we visited were so welcoming and there was much fun as well as good bowling and we thank them all for their friendship and hospitality. Two games won, one drawn, one lost and one rained off - a rare event this season. A huge thank you to all who were involved in the organisation of this most successful tour.

CMBL President's day on Thursday 6th at Writtle bowling club was to celebrate Wendy's year as CMBL President. Wendy is also the current Writtle President so it's been a busy year. With the Writtle bowls tour still to come in late August. The weather was perfect and the bowls was friendly. Food as always was marvellous as you can see from the desserts table. Well done to everyone who played and helped in any way but particular thanks to the catering team who got the biggest cheer during the speeches. A lovely day we shall all remember.

President's day at Writtle BC on Saturday proved to be a great a day for everyone who played. The introduction of air conditioning in the clubhouse over the winter made the excessive heat bearable. As always these days are only possible because of all the volunteers and our organiser. Congratulations to the winners who received their prizes and we all enjoyed the raffle.
