🚨 Tension 🚨
This can create stability if it’s generated in the right muscles for the right lift. For example in the bench press. You can see I unrack the bar and then pinch my shoulder blades creating tension in the upper back. This keeps my shoulders stable and in the correct position. I also focus on bending the bar this engages the lats.

Consider these points next time you press and you may just see your lifts improve.

🚨 Bi lateral exercises 🚨
These are when both feet are in connection with the floor such as the squat. They will develop strength and require less balance so focus can be on the muscles worked. Also you are loading the whole system with greater amounts of weight.

You may want to vary your training doing unilateral one day and bilateral the next to vary your training and tick all the boxes.

🚨 Unilateral Exercises 🚨
These are exercises that require you to just use one leg. A great example here is the split squat this can be loaded in many different ways as you can see. Unilateral exercises challenge balance and develop strength without having to use as much weight as a biped exercise. They also might be better for athletes as sporting situations are rarely performed on two legs simultaneously. Where do or could you add unilateral exercise to your routine?
