Cheddar Rugby Club players are raising funds for Damien Green, our 2025/26 Club Captain, to undergo a private lumbar foraminotomy after waiting more than six months on the NHS with no indication of when his surgery will take place.

Following a serious rugby injury, Damien has been diagnosed with a lumbar disc herniation causing nerve root compression, leaving him in constant pain with severe sciatica, numbness, tingling and weakness in his legs. While the operation is available through the NHS, the ongoing delay means he continues to live in pain every day.

A specialist has advised that, if funded privately, the operation could take place within a month, with the aim of returning to running within six months.

Damien has dedicated his life to helping others. He has proudly served in the Royal Navy, worked as a paramedic for over 20 years, and now continues to care for patients through his role within the NHS. Alongside this, he gives countless hours to Cheddar RFC—not only as Club Captain, but by supporting junior rugby and helping with the day-to-day running of the club.

Now it's our turn to give something back.
Cheddar RFC players will be organising a series of fundraising events to help cover the cost of Damien's surgery and rehabilitation.

Our first challenge will be the National Three Peaks Challenge on 5–6 September, with players attempting to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) within 24 hours. Aidan Cottee Max Young Simon Ryall Saul Dawson Oulton Tom Green Green Allison and Jefferies.

You have 1 month to prepare. Thats no time at all. Be strong and bring it home, as a team, in less than 24 hours.

We desperately need corportate level sponsorship to achieve this. Please reach out to help.

More fundraising events will follow, and we'd love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved or organise an event of their own.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help Damien access the treatment he needs sooner and begin his recovery. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page with friends, family and the wider rugby community would mean just as much.
Thank you for helping us get Damien back on his feet.

It’s hard to believe I’ve been part of the Mentorship since 2020.

This weekend I was back with the team for another incredible few days of learning, covering over 300 exercises and their variations. It was a reminder that no matter how long you’ve been coaching, there’s always more to learn.

The knowledge, coaching, and support I’ve received over the years have completely transformed the way I coach. It’s not just about learning new exercises—it’s about understanding movement, improving programming, refining communication, and ultimately getting better results for my clients. Looking back, the mentorship has played a huge part in upskilling both me and my business, and I know I’m a far better coach because of it.

One thing I really appreciate is the commitment from everyone involved. I’m lucky that it’s less than an hour’s drive for me, but there are PTs travelling from all over the UK and Europe because they know the quality of education is worth it.

If you’re a personal trainer who’s serious about developing your skills, investing in yourself, and becoming the best coach you can be, I can’t recommend the Body Development Mentorship highly enough.

They currently have a couple of spaces available for next year’s intake. If you’ve been thinking about taking your coaching to the next level, this is an opportunity well worth considering.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for continuing to raise the bar year after year. Looking forward to putting everything I’ve learnt into practice with my clients.

Six months.
Hundreds of early mornings, late sessions, disciplined choices, and quiet promises kept. This is the third time I’ve taken on a sub‑5% body‑fat challenge — but these results feel different.
Not because they’re “better”, but because I am. This time, the process felt calmer.
More intentional.
Less about proving something, and more about exploring what consistent effort can really build when life, family, and routine all move together. I’m proud of this photo — not for how it looks, but for what it represents:
Structure.
Patience.
Discipline.
Support at home.
And the belief that you can always raise your own standard, even when you’ve done it before. Here’s to the work behind the image, and the lessons that came with it. Techniques used to get to this condition I’ve learnt from mentorship which I’ve been attending since 2020. Photo credit to

Truly an end of an era. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave Target Fitness — a place that has been a huge part of my journey since 2018.

When I moved back home from London, I was rebuilding not just my business, but my life here in Somerset. Nathan welcomed me into the gym community from day one, and I’ll always be grateful for the support, encouragement, and belief he showed in me during those early years. What started as a ladies-only gym became a place full of amazing people, motivation, laughs, and sometimes even coaching if they decided to listen 😂

The community at Target Fitness has been incredibly welcoming and supportive over the years, and leaving definitely hasn’t been an easy decision.

But ultimately, life moves in seasons, and right now my biggest priority is getting some time back to spend with my kids. That’s something I can’t put a price on.

I just want to say thank you to Nathan and everyone at for being part of my journey. I’ve made some great memories and met some genuinely brilliant people along the way.
Hopefully I still get an invite to legendary Xmas party’s 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Exciting news from me! 🏉

I’m really proud to be starting a new role coaching the Cheddar Ruggerberries (ages 2–5) — introducing the next generation to a sport that’s given me so much.

It comes at a poignant time, as next week will be my final game for the Cheddar Valley Rugby Club adult team. It’s important to me that rugby remains part of my life, and I’m especially excited to be supporting the local community while also coaching my own children.

I’m looking forward to passing on the lessons rugby has taught me over the years — discipline, teamwork and dedication. 💪

Great weekend of learning (& beasting) again.

Lots of new techniques, drills & methods to practice & implement that will benefit myself & clients.

Main take home, knowing the difference between program design to program planning.

Having the ingredients vs knowing the recipe.

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER. 💪🔥

Today my client Tim proved that limits are often just beliefs.

At 70 years old, he set out to chase the Ski Erg Marathon World Record… and absolutely smashed it.

🏔 Previous world record: 4 hours 9 minutes
⚡ New time today: 3 hours 10 minutes

That’s not just a new record — that’s nearly an hour faster.

A marathon on the Ski Erg is brutal. It demands endurance, strength, grit and relentless mental toughness. To deliver a performance like this at 70 is nothing short of extraordinary.

Proof that dedication, consistency and mindset can defy expectations at any age.

Massive respect and congratulations on an incredible achievement. The bar has officially been raised. 👏
