Some rather bad news today! It has become increasingly difficult to send lamps with battery packs internationally (i.e. outside the UK). Despite compliance with international shipping guidelines (it's fine to send our battery packs attached to Nora lamps or mini monkey lamps), we have now had 3 lamp sets snatched by the 'Hazardous Goods' people. They do not return the lamps to us, they simply seize and destroy without offering any evidence of non compliance. They are virtually uncontactable, and when they can be contacted they simply claim that the item was deemed not to comply. They offer no evidence, and there is no option to dispute their action. It seems that they are a law unto themselves. There is no arguing with them, we have tried! Losing this level of stock is obviously unsustainable, and (concerningly) they have now put us on warning that further violations will be considered a criminal offence. Therefore sadly, we feel we have no choice other than to stop sending battery packs with Nora lamps (or mini monkey lamps), until (when and if) we can find a suitable resolution. Apologies for the inconvenience this will ultimately cause. Sadly existing international customers using battery packs will need to source or construct their own 1s2p battery packs. New customers will hopefully find our new battery box that can accommodate 2 x individual 18650 batteries (now available with Nora4 lamp) a practical option. It would be fair to say that at the moment we are very pi**ed off, as supporting our customers ongoing requirements has always been super important to us. Will keep you updated when and if anything changes :-(
