ALWAY GRATEFUL 🙏🏽
I’m so lucky and grateful to be in a job that allows me to meet wonderful people and be able to make a difference to their lives.
This groups of dedicated ladies are an inspiration who have a combination of Osteoporosis and Arthritis. Yet every week they come and move with safety and guidance to work on their bodies to keep moving to the best they can.
Pilates is, at its heart, about re-educating the body — helping to undo the effects that years of stress, poor posture and inactivity can have on the way we move.
Through repeated, mindful practice, we teach the body to recognise better alignment, movement patterns and positions. Over time, these patterns become more familiar, creating a kind of “muscle memory” so that movement can begin to feel more natural, efficient and effortless — without having to consciously think about every detail.
As Joseph Pilates said, when exercises are “correctly executed to the point of subconscious reaction,” they can bring greater “grace and balance” into our everyday movements.
That’s the beauty of Pilates: we don’t just exercise the body — we teach it how to move and feel better.
