So I had a letter from Steve Barclay Mp about our local hospital that serve so many people, from minor injuries to x rays to mental health issues and look after a huge amount of the elderly in our area.
Services are being moved away that are not accessible without a 30min + drive. Lots don’t have access to transport and local transport buses isn’t great. This hospital is so important to the area.
Ways I would love the hospital to be used including what they offer.
What I sent :
Women’s health ❤️ we have been forgotten :
Smear tests - my local surgery cancelled my last 2 appointment just this year, now I need to book in again.
Sexual health including contraception
Hrt management - I went private because I wasn’t heard.
Osteoporosis screening - they have a dexa scan machine.
Drs that have knowledge in endometriosis and you’re not constantly referred and ignored, Pocs, prolapses, incontinence, heavy bleeding without cause. Hypermobility and the fact it can affect every organ in the body from the heart to digestion. (I help women daily deal with exercise and these symptoms)
If we can support women earlier enough we can help reduce wait times at surgeries, get seen and heard. Antidepressants are great if you suffer with mental health but if you have hormonal imbalance 🤷🏼♀️
Women are not heard and not seen 😞
Give GPs a break and set up a women’s health centre that can focus on one thing women and let GPs treat patients.
Treating the cause early enough will save more in the long run. We are 50% of the population, we need to be see and heard.
I’ll pop the link in the feed. Share away because the more we are heard the better xx
