We provide a complete yachting (sail or motor) service - from a first sailing weekend, through RYA training courses for competent crew or helmsman, day skipper, coastal skipper and yachtmaster to offshore adventure and yacht charter. Classroom courses in navigation

, seamanship, radio, radar, diesel engine maintenance, sea survival and first aid are held at Chatham. RYA navigation course support is also available in Central London and online. Adventure Sailing includes complete Round Britain circumnavigations with trips all over NW European waters. 🌊 Today the ultimate retro adventure begins! ⛵️

The Golden Globe Race starts today - the most demanding, nostalgic solo race on the planet! 🌎

Skippers are embarking on a solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation with no GPS, no satellite comms, and no modern tech.

Honouring the original 1968 race won by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, competitors must navigate retro production boats using only paper charts, sextants, and the stars.

30,000+ miles across open ocean. Passing the 3 Great Capes. Months of total isolation in the Roaring Forties

This USV moored next to us in the middle of the night! 🤖 🌙

Spitfire was out with a crew of students that were learning to sail, they moored at Queenborough Harbour Trust, Kent overnight and when they went on deck in the morning this little Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) was moored next to them! 👀 🫪

It was packed with tech, and was very futuristic!

This gives us a warm and fuzzy feeling! 🧡 🥰

Some students who learned to sail with us this summer just sent us this message from their holiday…
“Elite Sailing really does what it says on the tin. We’re on our first flotilla since passing the Day Skipper and even have our non-sailing friends fully involved!
Amazing conditions yesterday. Flat calm seas, 12-15 knots of wind, 5-6 knots of boat.
Hope we can sail with you guys again soon!”

This is just one of the many reasons why we do what we do. Unlocking adventures for others, building confidence, keeping people safe, and giving people new skills. This is what it’s all about. 🙌

32 knot gusts are tough to learn in! 🌬️ ⛵️

But this weekend crew persevered, loving every minute, walking away as a newly qualified team of four certified Competent Crew, and one crew member gaining his Day Skipper certification! 🙌 🥳

Congratulations crew, great job 💪

A wild and fun day on the water in 30+ knots of wind 💨 ⛵️

Today all three training boats were out, and with a full crew on each boat it has been an intense day on the water!! Learning in heavy weather the crews have all done amazingly well, with heavily reefed sails they’ve been put through their paces. 🌊

It’s been an absolute blast, so much fun as the students have built their confidence and really gelled as teams.

The best sunset of the season?
It’s definitely up there! 🧡 🌅

Lightning with her crew of Coastal Skipper students and comp crew was anchored in the Swale, and Spitfire with her crew of Day Skipper students and comp crew was anchored in the Medway. And both were lucky enough to enjoy the most glorious of sunsets. The type of sunset you only truly experience at sea. 🌊

The whole horizon glowed up in golden and purple tones, as both crews gathered on deck to take it in and lock the image into memory forever.

What is this???! 😳😶‍🌫️

It’s noisy and wet. And it’s falling from the sky!

RAIN!!!! 😱

Crew on Spitfire were awoken to an unfamiliar pitter patter this morning… rain! 🌧️
After months with no rain, it has finally begun to fall. Clearing the air, and creating excitement onboard (who’d of thought we’d ever get this excited in the UK about rain! 😂)

With it not due to last long, the crew opted for a big breakfast, some chartwork and planning before heading out for a day of sailing in the Thames Estuary where normal will resume.
