With temperatures rising this week, please ensure club members arrive for classes with a fully filled water bottle 👍

We will be doing our best to cool the dojos by having all windows and doors fully open and any building fans on where installed, but making sure you are fully hydrated when training is really important 👍

Where will you be wearing yours this summer 🤔

Are you going somewhere interesting, somewhere far away, somewhere high, somewhere hot or even somewhere cold over the summer. Wherever you are going send us a photo of yourself or your little judoka wearing your/their club tee-shirt that we can add to Facebook and during our first classes in September we will be awarding some small judo related prizes for the funniest, most interesting or strangest photos or any that just really make us smile 😁

Congratulations to all our ‘Judoka of the Week’ award winners on Monday 8 and Friday 12 June, super effort shown by all of them 👍

No award winners this week as it’s Grading week, good luck to all our juniors taking Gradings🤞 😁

It is with huge sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Orgee. For those old enough to remember, Frances was the first face you saw at the club for over 14 years. From the day we opened until the day she moved to Devon 16 years ago. Frances booked you in, took your mat fees, ran the tuck shop and made many very welcome, even if only half filled, cups of tea 😉

For many years the club trained in the South of France during the May half term holiday and typically, Frances could always be found tidying up, washing up and generally doing anything but just sitting down, resting and enjoying the holiday 😊

In 2010 she was presented with the Unsung Hero Award at the Medway Sports Awards, an award she fully deserved.

Before leaving Medway and moving to Devon to live with her daughter, the club held a party at which she was presented with a superb cake to say thank you for her many years of service to the club.

Frances was 96 and slipped away peacefully, in bed at home on the morning of 10 June, with her daughter Linda at her side ❤️

Super effort and fighting spirit, along with great support for newer members was demonstrated In abundance by these two ‘Judoka of the Week’ award winners this evening, well done to both of them 😊🥋
