Re-Opening of Lifestyles
Latest: July 14th 2020!!
After almost 4 months, Lifestyles will reopen its doors to our members on the 25th July 2020!!
We hope that you all have stayed safe and healthy and sane throughout the lock-down.
Over the past 4 months Lifestyles has used the opportunity to make some significant changes to our gym which we hope everyone will recognise and appreciate and we are now able to offer our customers a fully Covid 19 compliant facility.
We have made every effort to be ready and prepared for this reopening date so that you will be able to safely enter our facility and start training again.
We have carefully studied the government and PHE guidelines to arrive at an operational guide on how we plan to re-open Lifestyles in a functional and a safe, socially distanced manner. Obviously, this will not be like pre-pandemic training, however I'm sure you will all be understanding of this and we ask everyone to respect the decisions we have taken and fully comply with the guidance that we have implemented.
We have taken the decision to operate the early stages of our reopening with a reduced capacity of members at any one time, which we feel will allow our customers to feel comfortable and safe and make their training experience a positive one and what they would expect from a caring, professionally run business. We will be open on Friday 24th July between 10am and 2pm for people to come along and have a look around and see for themselves what we are planning on doing here so that they can decide if they are ready to return to Lifestyles. Come along, take a look and see for yourself the new normal for gyms!!
We have invested in the latest state of the art anti-viral fogging machines, which have been proven to be effective against Corona Virus and which allow us to clean our facility to a level unachievable by conventional spray and cloth / mop cleaning methods. The entire surfaces of all the internal fixtures and fittings can be treated within a relatively short period of time and ensure that before opening and at frequent times throughout the day a deep anti-viral clean of the whole facility and its entire fixtures, fittings and machines are as free of Covid 19 as is possible. We believe that our customers deserve this level of commitment for their safety from us when they return.
We have designed a uni-directional flow through the gym which we feel will afford our customers the highest level of social distancing, unlike what is seen in the supermarkets and DIY shops which is poor to say the least!! We will have a single point of entry at reception where customers will be monitored with temperature scans and assessed for entry into the gym. All customers will sign the signing in book after first hand sanitising, before being allowed in the gym. We will adopt the one way flow through the gym which will be guided by the appropriate taped signage on the floors and walls and social distancing will be maintained by restricting the use of certain machines and the designation of specific training zones in place in all areas of the gym. On completion of your workout, you will be advised to leave the gym via your nearest exit point, of which there will be 3 in the building and not via the main entrance.
Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the facility, which we encourage you to use, along with blue roll tissue which we insist you use to wipe down the machines handles, weight pins and seat covers after each and every complete use of the machine, weight, bar or seat/bench. To this end, we encourage customers to use each single piece of equipment once (multiple sets allowed) before sanitising as described above and moving on to the next piece of equipment!
We will be operating our toilet as normal, however our shower and changing room will not be available for use, so we ask everyone to arrive ready to train and to shower at home. Also note, no personal towels to be brought in the gym, please use the blue roll tissue that is freely available throughout the facility.
Lifestyles staff will not tolerate any antisocial behaviour and will ask anyone not complying with these guidelines to leave immediately, our customers continued safety is our primary concern.
Until then, we wish you all well, stay safe and we hope to see most of you back on the 25th!
Tony
