Chard Bowling Club – Friendly Match Update

We travelled to Axminster today for a friendly match — and let’s just say, they well and truly got their revenge after the heavy loss they took at our place earlier in the season! 😅

Final Score: Axminster 130 – Chard 38
Ouch! 😩 But the game was played in great spirit and we enjoyed some fine company on the green.

A big thank you to Axminster for hosting us — we’ll take that one on the chin and look forward to our next encounter! 💪

What a fantastic game of bowls today against our friends from Seaton! 🎉

The match was played in great spirit, with some brilliant bowling on both sides. It was a close contest from start to finish, ending in a well-earned draw at 43–43.

A huge thank you to Seaton for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon — competitive, friendly, and full of good humour throughout.

We’re already looking forward to the return match in August. Bring it on! 💪

After some tough recent matches against Westlands and Ilminster, our team may not have come away with the wins, but we’re proud of the strong performances and the great spirit shown by all our players! 💪👏

Chard currently sit 7th in the table, and with plenty of games still to come, there's every opportunity to climb the ranks. It’s all to play for!

Most importantly, we’re enjoying every moment – win or lose – and showing what Chard Bowling Club is all about: great bowls, great people, and great fun.

🎉 Bowls Fun Social & BBQ Evening – Saturday 26th July! 🎳🍔

Join us at Chard Bowling Club for an afternoon of fun, friendly bowls followed by a relaxed summer BBQ!

🕑 Bowls starts at 2pm – open to all abilities
🔥 BBQ from 6pm onwards – bring your own food, and we’ll provide the grill!

🍻 Bar open all day – come and enjoy a drink with friends
Whether you're a seasoned player or just fancy a relaxed afternoon, it's a great chance to get involved and enjoy some summer social time. All welcome!

A big thank you to Bridport Bowling Club for hosting us this afternoon for a very enjoyable friendly match. Although Chard came up short with a final score of 55–70, it was a great game played in fantastic spirit.

🌿 Their green was in excellent condition and a real pleasure to play on, and we were met with such a warm and friendly welcome – a real credit to the club.

👏 Well done to Bridport on the win, and thank you again for a lovely afternoon of bowls. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

🏆 Match Report – Chard vs Chardstock

🎳 Mixed 4 Triples Friendly

A great evening of bowls as Chard welcomed our friends from Chardstock for a friendly in the Mixed 4 Triples format. The sun was shining, the spirits were high, and the bowls were rolling beautifully!

👏 Chard came out on top with a solid win, finishing 74–47 overall. A big thank you to Chardstock for making the trip and for the great sportsmanship shown throughout the match. Always a pleasure to play against such a friendly and competitive side.

Well done to all who took part – and thanks as always to those who helped behind the scenes with teas, markers, and organisation. On to the next one!
