Huge congratulations tonight for two Chard CC Players, Jon Dalwood and Mark Tilley who played brilliantly in the Somerset Championship 50+ semi final to beat Wales and secure a place in the final against Yorkshire next Sunday.
Jon bowled 9-0-2-45 and Mark 1-0-3-1 and saw Wales hit a total of 178.

A Chard CC salute for Mr Parsons senior who replied with an impenetrable 80, supported with a crucial 21 from Mark and a strong 32 from Jon took Somerset over the line with one over to spare.

Brilliant to watch.. good luck in the final chaps. 🏏

🏆 Youth Awards🏆
What a brilliant evening last night celebrating our fantastic youth section.
Medals for all and Awards were presented by our President Nick White, and Chair Ellie Dalwood.

Our wonderful Coaches spoke with real pride about each of the teams, their hard work, progress and kindness to each other were themes that all featured throughout.

Batter of the season, Bowler of the season, most improved player, Managers Players and Players Player Awards were given out for every team. Congratulations to all our Award winners this year, very well deserved. 👏👏👏

Thanks to our Youth Lead Lynda Northover for keeping the season running so smoothly and for organising the awards evening.

Thanks also to Mums and Dad's, for all their support, transport, kit washing and organisation on Spond!

That's a wrap for 2026 and we can't wait to do it all again next year! 🏏

More rain saw the end of season cancelled, so no final Player of the week. 😓

Congratulations to everyone who was crowned POW this season! 👏👏👏

There were so many other fantastic performances over the summer and some weeks we could probably have had several POW!

Everyone on this list enjoyed £10 to spend at the Pheasants' Nest Bar. 🍺

🏏🌞 Sunshine on a rainy day 🌞🏏

After 14 fantastic weeks Chard Accessibility Cricket finished the season with their annual match and presentation evening this week.

Following recent weeks of powder paint cricket, sports day and fancy dress week, the group were able to show off all their skills in the final match.

For the record Team ‘9 to 5’ took the honours beating Team Dolly by 27 runs. After the game, everyone received medals and special congratulations to Amy, Callum and Archie for winning this year’s trophies.

The match was followed with lots of singing and dancing in the bar. A memorable end to a fantastic season.
Special thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us this year. The group continues to grow and thrive and if anyone is interested in joining us next year, please contact the club. We are always looking to welcome more players.

They won the league!!!
Congratulations to our Ladies Hardball team.. 🎊

The ladies played an excellent game against Taunton on Tuesday. Batting first Chard scored a huge 181, with great knocks from Emmie and Immy.
As usual the team looked incredible with the ball and Taunton were unable to get close to the total with the ladies on full attack. Just look at some of those bowling figures 👀👀

Chard won the match and while there are a couple of games left, can't be caught in the points! A very well played season, Led by Captain Lucie Hopkins and Vice Charley Whittingham.

Well done to everyone who has contributed to the league victory along the way, it is very much a squad win 🏏👏💚

The last Saturday league game! How did this happen soooo fast!!??

Unfortunately with the 2nd XI and 3rd XI having both opposition conceed, and the 4th XI on a bye we only have one side in action on Saturday.

So, Introducing... For the final time in 2026, our 1st XI 🏏

Huge thanks to SHPS Services for their support of Andrew Clancy and Chard CC this summer.

We have said it before, and we will say it again, we could not do it without the support of our amazing sponsors who back us all the way.
