Looby Chubb Equestrian

Looby Chubb Equestrian Hi my name is Looby Marsden, I have been riding since I was 7 years old and have always had a passion for horses.

I learnt to ride at Drakes Farm with Mrs Matravers who gave me a brilliant grounding. I then went to ride for several private people helping back, school and compete a variety of horses. I have been working for/training with Ruth & Tony Kuszek since the age of 15 and they have been very influential in my handling and riding of horses. I worked for Rachel Shire for several years and she has also he

lped me alot and brought on my flat work skills by miles. I have also carried out work experience with Jabeena Masline and Jimmy Frost, spent 10 months in New Zealand working for the top showjumper Ike Unsworth and ridden for International Dressage rider Sally Bell. I am now backing, schooling, competing and teaching for myself. I have successfully ridden to BS Foxhunter, BE90 and BD PSG. I am a fully qualified BHSAI which also means I have my First Aid Certificate, Child Protection Certificate, BHS satges 1,2 &3, PTT exam and attend CPDs yearly. If you would like to have your horse schooled, competed or have a lesson, please get in contact, Many Thanks!

πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰Bit of a delayed post, but I'm very proud of Freddie's recent achievements!

Freddie has come 3rd in the Arabian winter dressage league and joint reserve champion in the Pure Bred Arabian overall league! πŸ†

He has also qualified for:
BD Novice - Area festival
BD Novice - Regionals
BD Elementary- Area festival (having only done 4 Elementary tests ever)!

What an incredible and versatile little Arab he is 🧑

Huge thanks to Sue Herrod for all of the help and hard work you put in on a daily basis and trusting me with the ride 😁

And thankyou Freddie, for always giving it your all πŸ’ͺ🧑

πŸ₯‡What an absolute superstar 🌟 Mable was yesterday! She absolutely smashed it at Wellington Premier League Pony 5yo with a 73.2% and qualifying for the National Championships πŸŽ‰

This was a new experience for me, as I've never done age classes or ridden at a Premier League show and the age classes are run very differently to a standard class, so I felt abit out of my depth. But Sally & Mable made it all very easy for me and the 2am alarm definitely worth it!

Thankyou to Sally Bell Dressage for the ride, guidance and a lovely trip away!

Now to get practicing for the championship πŸ†

🐴Mable's first ever dressage competition and she was impeccably behaved and bagged herself 2 wins, with a score of 69% 😲 I've only sat on her a few times, so credit to former rider and Sally Bell Dressage!

🐴 Freddie was fantastic as always with two 2nd places and giving Elementary 5 a shot. There's a couple moves that we're not established at yet, but he listens to everything I ask and always tries so hard! πŸ’ͺ

Huge thankyou to Sue Herrod & Sally for trusting me with the rides and getting them both looking so smart! Elizabeth Banks Peach for coming to the rescue and driving Fred to the show, when the lorry broke this week πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜˜ and the team at Chard for a lovely and well run show 😁

It was a brilliant day and great to catch up with our Dressage friends 😘

The queen and Lucy also had baths and they all had a bowl of slop. Foxy drinking it up as usual ❀️

When I get demoralized on how far behind we are in the ridden work, moments like this remind me of how far we have actually come and how solid our relationship is becoming! I couldn't even wash his feet off when he arrived, so this is huge 😁

πŸ§‘πŸ… A long but brilliant day yesterday at the British Dressage Combined Training Championships at Western Lawns with Freddie. It was an early morning start and our Dressage first. Freddie did a lovely and very obedient test, with no mistakes, which I was thrilled to bits with, but sadly the judge didn't agree πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€£ so we ended up with a score of 67.8% which was abit disappointing 😞 Then onto the SJ, which was by far the scariest ring Freddie has jumped in. He went very green on me a couple of times, especially when he spied the πŸ’¦ water tray in the middle of the arena and thought he may drown 🀣 We had stepped down a level which was a sensible idea, height definitely isn't an issue, but there was alot to take in. Fred really put his trust in me when he wasn't sure and jumped huge for a clear round, which put us into 9th place!πŸ… A top 10 finish is always the aim at big championship shows and we gained alot of experience from this one. Very proud of how Freddie coped with a big show and how he always tries his hardest for me! 🧑 He can now have a well deserved few days off! Huge thankyou to Sue Herrod for trusting me with Freddie and all of the work you put in to get us there! And Kev for the help and 6 hours of driving πŸš— πŸ’€
