In July last year Billy Cooke made the transition from Fiveways School in Yeovil to Future 4 Chard. This was a big milestone in Billy’s life.
To mark this milestone Billy’s dad Barry Cooke decided to raise money for Future 4 Chard and Fiveways School by giving up alcohol for a whole year. He managed to raise the tremendous sum of £2782.28.
Delighted members of staff from Future 4 Chard were presented with a cheque by Billy and his family for £2482.28 and Fiveways received £300.00. District Councillor Amanda Broom was also present Amanda has been involved in supporting Future 4 Chard and Billy’s tranisition throughout the year.
The generous donation will enable them to purchase additional Sensory equipment for their Sensory room and will also be used to allow individuals the opportunity to try new experiences.

Working with the Community for the Community

Working in partnership with Tesco we are running a ‘Veg in a Box’ Summer Session which is about growing vegetables to donate as ‘Vegetable Boxes’ back into the Community.
Roly Smith - Store Manager of Tesco in Chard and Kay Hollick - Community Champion, are both keen to support the local community and have donated the compost for the vegetable beds. It is now up to our keen gardeners at Future 4 to grow the vegetables and then together with Tesco we will donate the vegetable boxes to individuals within our Community.
