Chard United 1sts 2-1 Misterton 1sts.
Chard welcomed Misterton to Jocelyn in their final home game of the season in what was set to be a big game for the lads they came out on top with a well deserved 2-1 win against last seasons champions!
The game started fairly even and quite cagey, Chard contained Misterton very well and made it extremely difficult for Misterton to get a foothold in the game. As the half continued Chard began to look the stronger of the 2 teams and half way through the half Logan who stepped into midfield for the day came up trumps and fired home a long range shot to the top corner! 1-0 to Chard! But shortly afterwards unfortunately he was chucked in the bin for 10 minutes! With Chard down to 10 men they seemed to up it even more and still looked to cause problems for a rattled Misterton with the closest effort coming from Owen Ford hitting the bar from a free kick, but the half ended 1 nil.
2nd half started with Chard looking to build on the 1 nil lead they had, but unfortunately shortly into the half Misterton were awarded a penalty to which they slotted down the middle, the Chard keeper managed to get a touch on it but it wasn't enough to keep it out, 1-1! With the teams looking fairly even it was looking to be a tight affair and the next goal came from none other than Chard's top scorer Owen Ford who beat the Misterton defence and calmly slotted home his 21st goal of the season! Chard looked to add to this with a good run from Jake Davey followed by a tidy finish but the flag was up for offside! The game saw plenty of drama in the final 20 minutes with Chard having their 2nd player of the day sin binned and with 2 Misterton players sent off Chard thought it was going to be an easy final 15, but how wrong were they! With Misterton down to 9 men they looked the best and most dangerous they had all day! Causing the Chard defence multiple issues right down to the final minute which saw Misterton awarded 2 penalties! The first of which hit the bar and the 2nd saw the Chard keeper pull off a great save to make sure the game ended 2-1!
Manager Pink had this to say-'This was the one I have been waiting for all season and the lads did not dissapoint. After losing in the manner in which we did at Misterton's ground last season the lads knew how much I wanted this, as did they too! I hugely appreciate the effort ALL of the players put into this game to make sure we came away with a win in our last home game of the season. As good as every single player was Saturday I have to give a special mention to goalkeeper Squid for a really good performance and saving the day right at the end by saving the penalty. Also to Logan Parkes who stepped up to play in midfield for the day and came away with a fantastic goal and motm. From the lows of the first half of the season to of won the last 4 out of 5 games since i've taken over is a great feeling for myself and more importantly for the players as well, they deserve it, they have turned it around and this feels more and more like a team now!'

Yetminster Res 6-3 Chard United Res
The reserves travelled to Sherborne to face Yetminster with a depleted squad of 12 players which included mutilple players carrying injuries for another hard division 2 game.
Res started off the strongest going 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes with a top class 30 yard volley from Marcus Burgess and a sloppily taken penalty from Dan Scriven. Stand in manager Parr was just happy this one stayed in the earths orbit as Dan’s last penalty is still orbitng somewhere above Perry Street playing fields.
Yetminster clawed a goal back but the res went into half time 2-1 up, Yetminster came with a lot intensity and high pressure to pin the res back, scoring 4 goals in 25 minutes, with player getting injured left right and centre the res had to tweak formation and started to play some good football again, unfortunately Yetminster scored another, the res valiantly carried on battling until the end with Joao Neves adding the 3rd goal after running the from the half way line, beating mutilple players and calmly slotting it past the keeper.
The reserves are aiming to bounce back away to Combe on Saturday.
