Currently the club runs 20 teams in local leagues catering for some 200+ children. The club is entirely run on a voluntary basis by the parents of our players.

Meet our wonderful coach, Rachel ⚽️💙

Rachel is one of the many wonderful coaches who make SFFC such a special club. Week after week, our coaches give their time and encouragement to help young players enjoy football, build confidence and grow on and off the pitch.

We asked Rachel about her coaching journey and what she loves most about SFFC.

How long have you been part of SFFC?
I joined SFFC almost five years ago. My son was looking for a team and I heard the club was setting up a new U8 side and needed someone to manage it. I’ve always played football, so I was excited to be part of my son’s journey and help young people develop in the game. I met with one of the committee members and the rest is history!

What do you enjoy most about coaching this age group?
I love coaching this group of boys. I’ve worked with some of them for several seasons, and they’re great lads as well as good players. It’s brilliant to see their understanding and confidence grow.

What do you always try to teach your players?
To be good people above anything else — humble, honest and respectful, both on and off the pitch.

Favourite team or player growing up?
I’ve always been a Saints fan and played for the club in my teens and early twenties. Growing up, I admired Tony Adams, Stuart Pearce, Paul Ince and Steven Gerrard.

Best moment as a coach so far?
Winning the Southampton Cup tournament last season was definitely one of the best. There have been many proud moments, but that one really stands out.

What advice would you give young players?
Learn from different coaches, work hard, stay humble and focus on what gives you enjoyment.

What makes SFFC special to you?
SFFC invests in its coaches and players through learning and development. At the heart of everything, the club wants to give everyone the chance to play football.

Early kick-off or late kick-off? Tea or coffee?
Early kick-off every time — best to get going! As long as I have a decent flat white in hand, I’m happy.

St Francis Men's team are looking for new players for the 2026-27 season. This year, the club is hoping to begin a reserves/development team alongside the current firsts.

Players are needed for both teams and training sessions are open to all until the end of August. Training takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday at Magpie Lane.

Behind every great club is a committee that finally gets to sit down together! ⚽️

A lovely relaxed night out for the SFFC committee — no agenda, no spreadsheets, no tournament planning… just good company, plenty of laughs and a well-earned evening together.

So much of what happens at the club is thanks to the hard work that goes on quietly behind the scenes. From organising teams and events, to supporting our players, volunteers and families — it all takes time, care and commitment.

A huge thank you to our committee for everything you do for St Francis FC.

Still reliving the tournament weekend fun! ⚽️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a brilliant weekend — our amazing club volunteers, parents, teams, coaches, committee members and everyone working behind the scenes.

We’d also like to say a big thank you to all the teams from different clubs who travelled to be part of our tournament. It was fantastic to welcome you, and we hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

Events like this simply wouldn’t happen without the time, energy and support of so many people coming together.

A weekend full of football, teamwork, smiles, community spirit and memories made.

We also had our brilliant Awards Day yesterday, which was a lovely way to continue the celebrations. Thank you to everyone who came along — it was wonderful to see all the teams from across the club come together, and the beautiful weather made it even more special.

⚽ Pan Disability Football at St Francis FC ⚽

We’re looking for players to join our Pan Disability teams — including U16 players, over 16s participation players, and adult competitive players.

All abilities are welcome, and we believe hidden disabilities are just as important as physical disabilities.

We’re also looking for volunteers and coaches to support the growth of the teams, with the possibility of creating another competitive side.

📍 Weekly training sessions
🏆 Team matches/tournaments on the first Sunday of each month
🤝 Part of the Southern Inclusive Football League

* Adult Participation – Tuesdays at Stoneham Complex

A huge thank you from all of us at St Francis FC for being part of our tournament weekend! ⚽

We welcomed 199 teams, played 560 matches, and packed nearly 95 hours of football into two brilliant days.

Whether you were a first-time visitor or returning to our tournament, we hope you and your team enjoyed the football, the energy, the community spirit and plenty of smiles along the way.

Thank you to every player, coach, family, volunteer and supporter who helped make the weekend such a fantastic grassroots football event.

We hope to see you again next year!

Another brilliant result from the weekend — huge congratulations to our SFFC U8 Rangers, who also won the EDMSL Respect Cup! 🏆⚽

A superb achievement and a fantastic reward for their teamwork, respect, effort and belief throughout the season.

Here’s the coach’s match report from the day… 👇

St Francis Rangers were crowned Respect Cup champions with a superb 6-2 victory over Hiltingbury Hurricanes in a fantastic Under 8s final.

Every single one of the boys worked incredibly hard from start to finish, showing great determination, energy, and teamwork against a very tough Hurricanes side. The Rangers played brilliantly together throughout the match, supporting each other all over the pitch and fully deserving the win.

A special mention goes to Ethan Grant, who was awarded Man of the Match by the referee for an outstanding performance in the final. Well done to all the players on a brilliant team effort and a memorable cup victory.

Congratulations to our SFFC U9 Knights on winning the EDMSL Respect Cup! 🏆⚽

A fantastic achievement and a brilliant reflection of the team’s hard work, respect, togetherness and determination throughout the season.

Here’s the coach’s match report from the day… 👇

After a tough fought semi-final battle against Fleming Athletic, the St Francis Knights Under-9s progressed to the EDSML Respect Cup final on Sunday to face Whiteley Wanderers.

The Knights came out determined to lift the trophy, setting up in the same successful way as they had in the semi-final. From the outset, their teamwork shone through as they scored two early goals to set the tone for the game. By the end of the second quarter, the Knights had settled into their rhythm and went into half-time with a commanding 4–0 lead.

Their hard work and continued teamwork paid off as they produced an outstanding performance, running out deserved 7–1 winners.

Every player played their part in a fantastic team display to cap off a brilliant cup-winning weekend.

A huge well done to every player, coach, parent and supporter involved. What a team, what a final, and what a way to finish. ❤️🏆
