Big shout to Barrie & Liz who won our inaugural 'Yank Off' competition, all out for 60s on the ski erg.

Barrie finished top of the mens leaderboard, with Liz topping the ladies.

Fantastic work and top modelling of their lovely new Nike training tops they won as prizes.

Gym's can feel like an intimidating place.

Many people tell us they don't feel like they belong in a normal gym.

Everyone seems to know what they are doing.

Crowds of lads round single pieces of kit.

People find it boring and don't see any measurable results.

This is exactly WHY we created DMF.

An environment to train in that anyone can enjoy, yes, we said ENJOY.

Lots of banter flying around.

Training is adapted for every single individuals needs, whether its around a long term pre-existing injury, or a movement that doesn't suit the individual - this is personal training in small groups.

Members come from all different walks of life, different shapes, sizes and fitness levels and we pride ourselves on that.

Getting stronger, fitter and leaner can be enjoyable.

The DMF coaching team are entering in a fitness competition in November.

It's going to be really hard!

I started my training for this today.

Twenty mins of solid conditioning and I can honestly say I didn't enjoy that.

We love our training but this is something very different.

Needs must though and looking forward to seeing how we all do come November!

Lazy Lifting = not allowed @ DMF!

Being strong is essential in life and it becomes even more important as we age.

It makes us less "breakable".

Aspiring to be strong and fit are not bad aspirations in our book (we believe EVERYONE should be strong and fit) - but you should never try to lift more than you can handle, FORM > WEIGHT EVERY TIME!

At the same time, you need to progress over time too.

Moving the same loads, same volume or working at the same intensity will lead to stagnation.

This is why we progressively overload at DMF, getting our members gradually stronger over time.

At the end of each training block, we benchmark and test our members to monitor their progression in 9 different aspects of training.

Which is why you'll hear our famous PB (Personal Best) Bell ring out around Chandlers Ford Industrial Estate on a frequent basis, with our members clapping and cheering each of their team members on when it does.

Nothing in life worth having comes easy, which is why our members of all shapes, sizes and abilities come to DMF, to be motivated and pushed at the right amount - not battered in to oblivion at a military fitness style camp.

MEMBER OF THE WEEK - PAUL!

Each week the Coaching Team get together and discuss who has been smashing it at DMF.

This week, we all agreed on Paul.

Its not the dulcet Irish tones that canter from his mouth, or the sharp beard that's done it, sorry Paul.

It's the hard work in DMF that has been really noticeable this past week or 2.

Big squat and deadlift numbers and knocking a decent amount of pull ups out now too ✅

It's been fantastic to see recently and very well deserved.
