Violent day on the 45s for UCI round in lovely wet wales.

Legs were good, not quite world champs qualifying good but good nonetheless.

Punctures and bodies all over the place, kept the body upright and the tires inflated so there’s a win.

Wild how much unreal gravel there is around the southwest, thanks to the organisers for the route.

Chaps were on form channeling the true spirit of gravel (not dead)

360, not sure where to start. Didn’t come into this thinking of it as a race, more a get-round. And we got round nearly an hour ahead of what I was expecting, chuffed. Legs and brain left the chat around 280km. Els Metges is serious business. Legs and brain re-entered the chat at 320km as the sun went down. Ended on a high, feeling good after over 17 hours in the saddle.

Notes:
* MTB background = claiming bodies on the descents.
* MTB background = get claimed everywhere else.
* Gravel racing is savage - inspiring seeing 4000+ people bury themselves around Catalunya.
* Wear gloves next time.
* Don’t try to vlog and ride.
* Thank you to both & for sorting a last minute wheelset for racing. Legends.

Thank you to all the homies both here and at home for the unwavering support, it got me through that.

Mikey and I have entered the Sea to Summit Snowdon Ultra Marathon in October. Having never run more than 5k before January, we’ve both got a lot of work to do before having a bash at 50km and 2k of vert across Snowdonia 🫢

We have set up a GoFundMe page (link in my bio) to donate to Alzheimer’s Society. A charity supporting those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and their families. This is close to both of our hearts to any donations would be greatly appreciated 🥰
