Despite our best efforts Portland Red Triangle gained a narrow victory yesterday. Gary French (63) and Solo Roper (35) top scored, as CVCC put a competitive 239 on the board.
PRT's reply got off to a quick start, and had some difficult chances gone to hand the outcome may have been different. However, despite the efforts of skipper Pearce Mercer, Craig Kellaway, Dave Portch, and Solo, the visitors were always just ahead of the required rate, leaving with a 5 wicket victory with a couple of overs to spare.
Sadly today's planned Sunday XI game against Plush was called off by the opposition.
The Midweek XI face a tough trip to Martinstown on Friday.

Big first win of the season in a rain affected match at Stalbridge CC. The home side posted 223/8 from 41 overs. Craig Kellaway was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 35.
A 127 run partnership between Oli Hand (89) and Solo Roper (48) was the mainstay of the CVCC reply, helping see us home by 3 wickets with just five balls to spare.
We return to The Simsay Oval next weekend with Portland Red Triangle the visitors.

The elements may play a part again today as we travel to Stalbridge hoping to pick up our first W of the season.
