It's a case of déjà vue, as the final league game of the season looks set to be affected by the weather. Fortunately, there's nothing riding on the result this year, and should there be a sudden and unexpected break in the clouds, Broadstone are due to be visiting Simsay.

Always going to be a tough trip to high flying Shillingstone on Saturday.
Having made good inroads to reduce the hosts to 142 for 6, their strength in depth told, as the tail wagged nicely to see Shillingstone recover to 319 for 8. Danny England was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 32.
Skipped John Stiles (34) helped Mike Collinge (84), who has been inspired since moving to the top of the order, get CVCC off to a great start in reply. But sadly, once both fell, we were unable to keep the momentum going. James Beresford finished unbeaten on 36, as CVCC made it through to 221 for 6 at the close.
Next weekend sees the final league game of the season. Where has that time gone? Broadstone 2's will be the visitors at Simsay 🏏🏏

In a change to the originally advertised fixture our Sunday XI will now be travelling over the border to Sparkford CC this weekend 🏏🏏

Final away trip of the season on Saturday, with a visit to second placed Shillingstone CC.

A disappointing day with the bat leads to defeat to Symene. Our bowlers were once again consistent with the visitors having to battle hard to pass 200 and every bowler used chipping in with wickets.
Unfortunately, the run chase never really got going with only Mike Collinge and George Chubb getting a start.
Next weekend brings our final away game of the season, which will be a difficult trip to Shillingstone 🏏🏏

A huge well done to our Ladies XI, who have finished second in the league. This Sunday morning they face Swanage at Simsay in the cup semi-final. All support is welcome, with the game getting under way at 10:30 🏏🏏

A much needed return to winning ways yesterday at Witchampton. Having been asked to bowl first, CVCC's bowlers put in an exemplary performance, with Craig Kellaway claiming 3 for 22 in his opening spell of nine overs. As the hosts found runs hard to come by on a tricky pitch, spinners Mike Collinge (3 for 25) and George Wilkes (4 for 48) made regular in roads to restrict Witchampton to 150.
After an initial wobble at 22 for 3 the ship was steadied by Oli Hand (56 not out) and George Chubb (32) to help CVCC through to a six wicket victory with almost 20 overs to spare.
Symene Sports visit Simsay next Saturday for our penultimate home game of the season 🏏🏏

Pleased to report that Milbourne St Andrew CC has stepped in tomorrow, so the Sunday XI will be in action at Simsay from 13:00 🏏🏏
