โšฝ Sunday Football Preview | Caythorpe & Fulbeck JFC โšฝ

Another exciting Sunday awaits for Caythorpe & Fulbeck JFC, with teams from the U7s right through to the Charity Team in action across league, friendly and charity fixtures.

The day begins at 10:30am when our U7s host Gonerby Youth, continuing their football journey in a fun and supportive environment.

Also kicking off at 10:30am, U9 Athletico travel to Saxilby in league action, the U10s welcome NLH Rovers for a friendly, the U11s make the trip to Skegness Town, and the U16s host Cotgrave Blue.

The afternoon programme starts at 12:30pm. The U8s welcome Ruskington, while U9 Madrid host St Helens in a friendly fixture.

Our U12s take on Greenbank Corinthians in an important league match and will be looking to put in a strong performance on home soil.

The U15s are also at home in league action against Spilsby, aiming to continue building momentum as their season progresses.

Unfortunately, the U13s have no fixture this weekend and will enjoy a well-earned break before returning to action next week.

Rounding off the day at 2:30pm, our Charity Team host Lincoln Eagles. As always, this fixture is about more than football, bringing people together while supporting a fantastic cause and providing a fitting end to a busy day at the club.

Whether competing for league points, enjoying friendly football or representing the club in the charity match, every team will wear the black and blue with pride.

Good luck to all players, coaches, volunteers and supporters this Sunday. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ–คโšฝ

MATCH REPORT

Caythorpe U13s 0 - 4 Hykeham Tigers U13s - Cup Match

Caythorpe U13s welcomed Hykeham Tigers for a cup match and, despite the final scoreline, there were plenty of positives to take from the game โ€” particularly from a much-improved second-half performance.

The first half proved difficult for Caythorpe, with Tigers taking a 3โ€“0 lead into the break. However, the boys showed great character after half-time and came out with a much improved attitude and energy.

Caythorpe created a series of chances in the second half, with several efforts narrowly missing the target. The team continued to push forward and looked much stronger. Leon fired a free-kick inches over, and Vinnie came so close with a couple of powerful shots. A special mention also goes to Henry who had a superb game, persistently getting involved on the right wing, and taking the game to his opposing defender. Unfortunately for Caythorpe there wasnโ€™t to be a come back, and Hykeham added a fourth to runout winners and progress through to the next round.

Weโ€™d like to thank all of the parents for their support, and our home kit sponsor Holton Independent Schools.

Match Report

Burgh Town U12s 11-0 Caythorpe & Fulbeck JFC U12s

Caythorpe & Fulbeck JFC U12s faced a tough challenge away at Burgh Town on Sunday against a side that demonstrated excellent movement, passing and teamwork throughout the game.

Burgh Town started brightly, moving the ball confidently and creating space with their off-the-ball runs.

Despite the pressure, our players continued to battle and looked to stay organised as they worked to contain a strong attacking side.

The hosts took a 4-0 lead into half-time, but there were valuable lessons for our young team against quality opposition.

The second half saw Burgh Town continue to play with confidence and make the most of their possession.

For Caythorpe & Fulbeck, it was a game that demanded resilience, determination and a willingness to keep going when things weren't going our way.

A huge positive from the match was the performance of Marley in goal, who produced a string of outstanding saves throughout the game.

His bravery, reactions and refusal to give up kept the scoreline down on numerous occasions, earning him a well-deserved Player of the Match performance.

While the final score wasn't what we wanted, these experiences are all part of football development.

Playing against strong teams helps highlight areas for improvement and provides opportunities to learn and grow.

The important thing now is to take those lessons into training, continue working hard, and keep progressing as a team.

Player of the Match: Marley ๐Ÿงคโญ
"Success isn't measured by one result. It's measured by the effort to learn, improve and come back stronger."

Match report
CFJFC U11s

The U11s were on the road again, this time heading east down the A15. Todayโ€™s opposition was Heckington, competing in the first round of the Allen Signs KO cup. Both sides reside in the B-league for the 26/27 season. Heckington being B-league regulars, Caythorpe being the new boys to the division, this promised to be a thrilling cup tie.

Caythorpe started on the back foot even before the warm ups had finished, as our skipper pulled up with an injury. A substantial blow, the squad would need to compete with 8 to avoid any unnecessary risk.

Heckingtonโ€™s generously proportioned pitch would allow both sides ample time on the ball. Contrasting kits of Orange for Heckington, and traditional black and blue stripes for Caythorpe, would see the away side kick towards the Pavillion end.

Caythorpe used the available space to their advantage, taking the game to Heckington with some lovely link up play down the flanks. Caythorpe looked sharp in the first 2 thirds of the park, but looked lacklustre in the final third, mainly down to the towering centre half in orange.

Chances on goal were well defended by both sides. The game stats remained somewhat equal, until the deadlock was finally broken by Caythorpe shortly before half time. A deflected effort from 7 from outside the area found the back of the home net in an unfortunate own goal for Heckington.

Caythorpe started the second half much like the first, but Heckingtons half time talk gave them all the gusto they needed to attack the Caythorpe defence. Some nervy moments were quashed by Caythorpe, who had to withstand a good 10 minutes of solid Heckington pressure.

With the rain beginning to fall, physicality and fitness started to play a part from the 40th minute. Caythorpe have been training for this and managed to keep the orange home side at bay until the final whistle.

Caythorpe U8s welcomed Navenby Yellows for todayโ€™s game, with the youngsters ready to get stuck in and enjoy their football.

From the first whistle Caythorpe controlled the tempo and played some lovely football along the way.

Caythorpe worked hard as a team, passing the ball well and creating some good opportunities. #9 stood out for creating some brilliant chances for his team mates.

There were some fantastic individual moments from the Caythorpe players, #10 opened the scoring with a quick brace, #7 found the opportunity to net 5 times, #9 scored a hatrick and #12 got on the score sheet as well.

Most importantly, it was another enjoyable morning of grassroots football, with both teams showing great sportsmanship and enthusiasm.

Player of the match #12 for complete performance and encouraging comments to his team mates ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ–ค

U7s travelled to Cranwell for their first league match. We ended up having three teams playing as Gonerby also joined.

Caythorpe played in pairs and each pair played four matches. Throughout the four matches all the children played incredibly well, often against sides of three players. They all kept their heads up and did really well remembering the new 3v3 rules and it was great to see them all grow in confidence throughout the matches.

They all listened to each other, passed the ball well and worked together.

We've all taken lots away from the day but especially lots smiles at the end of the day.

Thank you for having us Cranwell JFC
