I hear this all the time.
And thereâs absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight.
But when the scales become the entire goal, everything else gets pushed to the side.
Strength?
Doesnât matter.
Fitness?
Doesnât matter.
Energy?
Doesnât matter.
Sleep?
Doesnât matter.
Nutrition?
As long as the calories are low enough, apparently thatâs all that matters.
Why is the number on the scales the thing youâve decided matters most? đ
What about getting stronger?
Being fitter?
Eating properly?
Having enough energy to get through your day?
Improving your health?
Building muscle?
Looking after your bones?
Sleeping well?
Being able to run, lift, walk, swim, cycle, play with your kids or simply feel physically capable?
Do they things not matter?
And theyâre not things you suddenly start caring about after youâve lost weight, They are important now đŻ
You know the trapâŚ.
Lose weight.
Relax.
Go back to old habits.
Gain weight.
Start again.
And round we go đĽ´
Why not build a way of eating, training and living that supports the whole bloody picture.
Your nutrition should support you.
Your training should make you stronger.
Your sleep should be looked after.
Your habits should be sustainable.
And yes, if losing body fat is one of your goals, we can work towards that too, it just doesnât need to become the one and only thing you care aboutâŚâŚ gone are the weight watcher, herbal life, slimming world days.
Letâs do this s**t properly once and for all đđź
You are more than a number on a set of scales.
And your health is about a hell of a lot more than your weight!
