One result from the weekend,

Bowling first, made to toil in the heat, but never gave up! There is only one word to describe him and that’s GORGEOUS! George Farrow picking up his maiden 5 wicket haul. Also youngster Theo Green picked up his first, first XI wicket.

Batting was another classic castor Collapso, debutant Jack White looking comfortable in Castor green and Shorn Dunn top scoring with 28.

RESULTS

Saturday saw a nail biting low scorer away at Moulton Harrox.
Batting first, Castor limped to 100 all out, thanks to Captain Stuart Dockerill’s 44.
Then it was time for the main show, the captain ran through their batting line-up taking 7 wickets!
A wicket each for Simon Brown and Noah Weston took it to the final pair and with the total edging closer, it was Shaun Dunn who ended the game!
Castor winning by 2 runs

Tuesday saw us take on Uffington in the semi final of the midweek
A sorry display from the batters, didn’t put up much of a fight as we only managed 83.
Uffington winning comfortably by 8 wickets.

A great midweek campaign for skipper Michael Gibbons, leading Castor to third in the table.

For those of you who have been club members for longer will remember Steve Henson and its 10 years since he sadly left us.

His daughters Steph and Kayleigh are undertaking a charity walk round the coastline of Anglesey, they started this incredible challenge yesterday and will be walking for the next 10 days in his memory.

Last week our Women’s team travelled to Upwood, a comprehensive win by 97 runs. The team are currently 2nd in the table.

One fixture at the weekend saw the 1st team host Woodhall Spa 2’s.
Bowling first, through some tight bowling spells and some loose deliveries, wickets fell regularly, Woodhall making 169-9. 2 wickets a piece for Shaun Dunn, Reece Smith-York and Ryan Evans

A little wobble at the top of the order brought Evans and Smith-York together who took the team towards the total.
Evans finishing 62 not out
