This is just an appreciation post
1 year ago I had zero motivation to get to the gym I had gained a lot of weight tipping scales at 21 stone and a bit π¬which meant that even the thought of getting back into a set routine of the gym was too far out of my reach
I used surgery I got in February 2024 as an excuse il start next week - I will start my diet next Monday
But that never came
I tentatively reached out to Darren at Paulies Gym about become a member as I wasnβt sure I would be able to commit again to getting back into shape and back into fitness
Thankfully Darren was great encouragement set me on the right path and one year has passed and it was a decision I definitely donβt regret
Yes itβs hard to get to gym at time yes itβs hard to try and eat better most of the times but being consistent is the secret sauce
If anyone reading this - I was involved in fitness my whole life and when I mean motivation was sub zero as I thought the road back was to hard and I couldnβt see an end goal
My advice
Take first step - get to a gym you feel comfortable with and familiarise yourself with it
The secret sauce - just show up
At start 3 times per week
Follow simple gym plan
Chat gpt a workout
Join a class
Cardio - pick a machine you enjoy and up the resistance or distance every week
But the most important thing is - JUST SHOW UP
Take the small steps - short term goals - the longer term goals or end goal will take care of itself
I now have few stone off me and inches off around the waist which was badly needed
I wanted to get fitter and healthier for me and my family and itβs what keeps me accountable
