MATCH REPORT: Castleside Club FC 4 - 3 Wingate Constitutional FC (formally shotton conns)
We kept our momentum rolling on a scorching Sunday afternoon, digging deep to secure a breathless 4-3 victory over a resilient Wingate Constitutional FC.
The hard-fought win marks three consecutive victories for the lads and extends our unbeaten run to six matches.
First Half: Fast Start and Fluid Football
Coming into the fixture brimming with confidence, we got exactly the start we were looking for. The breakthrough came courtesy of a beautifully delivered Jamie Tinknell free-kick, which picked out Cameron Bromley in the box. Showing great composure in the heat, Bromley cleverly dinked the ball over the oncoming Wingate goalkeeper to open the scoring.
We kept our foots on the gas, playing some lovely, fluid passing football. The pressure paid off when Bromley turned provider, turning a brilliant ball through to Ethan, who calmly rounded the keeper and slotted home to double the lead.
To their credit, Wingate refused to lie down and managed to pull one back before the whistle, leaving the game finely poised at the break.

Second Half: Digging Deep in the Heat
The soaring temperatures began to take their toll in the second half, and Wingate started the brighter of the two sides. However, we dug deep again to weather the early storm and restore their two-goal cushion.
A towering header from Tommy High found Chris Green on the edge of the box, who took full advantage of the time and space allowed to clinically find the back of the net for 3-1.
The momentum shifted heavily back in our favor. Despite a few nervous moments and scares at the back, a sweeping counter-attack put the game seemingly out of reach. A lovely ball relased by Chris Green found Jake Davison down the right wing, and his pinpoint cross found Jordan Gill, who stepped up to confidently fire home for 4-1.
A Nervous Finale
With a three-goal deficit, Wingate threw everything forward in the closing stages. They managed to breach the our defense twice to setup a tense, grandstand finish.
Ultimately, we held firm through the pressure until the final whistle blew, securing the win,
The Verdict
While there is plenty of work left to do on the training ground to iron out those defensive scares, the lads showed incredible character to see the game out.
Three wins on the bounce, six unbeaten, and the good form continues!
