75KM ULTRA. 🤯👏

With all the excitement around the Great North Run and the Vale of York Half Marathon today, we didn’t want this one to get lost.

A massive congratulations to Dean, who yesterday completed The Lap Ultra in the Lake District, finishing in an official chip time of 12:43:53. 💪⛰️

And this is what makes it even better…

In Dean’s own words, not long after joining Savvy he attempted Pontefract parkrun and stopped at around 4K on FOUR separate occasions.

Fast forward to yesterday…

75KM. An ultra. In the Lake District.

That is some journey. 🙌

From struggling to finish a 5K to spending nearly 13 hours out there tackling an ultra — you should be incredibly proud of yourself, Dean. We certainly are.

His watch even gave up before he did, dying at around 63K. 😂⌚

No doubt you’ve been enjoying a well-deserved rest today, watching a bit of footy and the F1 — and I’m guessing with a very well-earned b**r in hand. 🍺😂

Huge congratulations from everyone at Savvy Park Runrz, Dean. Absolutely smashed it. 🧡

🐶 🐶 Clearly the real stars of last night’s Naked Runner… 😂

Another brilliant Savvy Naked Runner last night — predict your 5K time, ditch the Garmin, Apple Watch, Strava and every other bit of tech… then see how well you actually know your pace.

Some ridiculously close predictions again, but Scott took the win — just TWO SECONDS away from his predicted time! He knew didn’t he… causally relaxing leaning on the post 🤯

Last year’s winner was only one second out, Scott was two seconds out this year… so surely somebody is going to absolutely nail it eventually?!

🎯 And when somebody does hit their predicted time exactly, there might just have to be an amazing prize waiting for them… 👀

A massive thank you to Hannah, our club captain, for organising it all, and to all of the volunteers who gave up their time to support the event. These nights don’t happen without people stepping up and helping out, so it’s hugely appreciated. 🙌

Great turnout, loads of laughs and exactly what these club nights are all about.

Thanks to everyone who came along — runners, supporters and, most importantly, Nova and Rosie. 🐕❤️

🏃‍♂️ TEAM SAVVY’S NAKED RUNNER RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY! 👀😂

And before anyone gets excited… PLEASE WEAR CLOTHES. 😂

The challenge is simple: predict your 5K finish time, then run completely technology-free.

🚫 No Strava
🚫 No checking your pace

Just you, your legs and your judgement.

Last year’s winner Ben finished just ONE SECOND away from his predicted time! 🤯 Can anyone go one better and get it bang on this year? 🎯

⚠️ Remember to get your predicted time to Hannah in advance. Drop her a DM if you haven’t already, or make sure you arrive early enough on Wednesday to give her your time before we start.

Hannah will then crunch the numbers.. hopefully all night to work out the winner 😂

34 miles. 6,703 ft of climbing. Sea to Summit done ✅⛰️

These two absolute lunatics (with Carl only recently completely Leeds Ironman, and Kev convincing him) went and took on the Rat Race Sea to Summit ultramarathon… and somehow still had enough left in the tank to smile for the photos 😅

From the coastline to the peaks, including Scafell Pike, this was no joke. Big effort, big graft and a serious day out in the hills.

Massive respect to these two crazy cats — what a shift and what an achievement. Tough, determined and just a little bit bonkers… exactly how we like it 💪🔥

All the recces and planning are done… now it’s time to enjoy it!

Brilliant to have two Savvy teams taking part this year 🙌 There might be the odd wrong turn along the way 😂 but that’s all part of it.

Teamwork, good laughs and getting everyone round.

🏆 TEAM SAVVY RUNNER OF THE MONTH – AUGUST 🏆

It’s that time again… and what a month August has been for Team Savvy! 🧡

We started the month at the York 10K, with a brilliant turnout and some awesome performances, and since then the miles have kept coming.

With the Leeds Country Way, Great North Run and plenty of other September, October and beyond races on the horizon, we’ve seen lots of you stepping up the training — even through some seriously scorchio summer weather! ☀️🥵

But our August Runner of the Month is Tom Varey 👏

Tom started the month with a bang, running a 10K PB at York, and has really kicked on from there ahead of the Great North Run.

He’s been running regularly, steadily increasing the mileage and putting in the work — including not one, but two 10-mile PBs along the way! 🔥

A really strong month and a great example of what can happen when you keep showing up and building that consistency.

👏 A special mention to Karen, who has also had a fantastic month and deserves plenty of recognition.

And a big thank you to Keith for all the work he’s put into supporting the preparation for the Kippax Harriers Leeds Country Way Relay .

Finally, good luck to everyone representing Team Savvy at the Leeds Country Way this weekend. Go out, enjoy it, support each other and do us proud!
