🧡 Castleford Comets Annual Junior Tournament 🖤

What an incredible turnout!

We welcomed teams from across Yorkshire for a fantastic day of pre-season netball and what a day it was. Some amazing matches, brilliant performances, great sportsmanship and, most importantly, so many smiles on court.

A huge thank you to everyone who travelled to join us and helped make the day such a success. It was fantastic spending time with so many clubs, coaches, players and families. 💫

We couldn’t run the tournament without our amazing helpers, so a special shout-out to:

👏 Jayne Field – for organising all of our umpires
⏱️ Hope & Ruby – for keeping the time running smoothly
📝 Jess Parker – for managing the fixtures and the scores
🏅 Branded Sportswear (Stanley) Ltd – for our fantastic tournament medals

🏐 CIRCLE DEFENDERS WANTED! 💫

Castleford Comets First Team are looking for some new circle defence players (GK/GD) to join us ahead of the new season! ☄️

We’re heading into our third season together and our third consecutive promotion! 🙌

🏆 Joined West Yorkshire Netball League Division 6 in 2024

⬆️ Promoted in our first season

⬆️ Promoted again in our second season

🔥 Now heading into Division 4!

We’ve got a brilliant group of girls and, with a few of our current players heading off to have babies 👶🏼 or moving away, we’d love to add some new faces to the squad.

📍 Training: Wednesday evenings at Lock Lane, Castleford

🚗 Matches: Across West Yorkshire

🏐 Looking for: Primarily GK/GD/circle defence players

💪 Level: Competitive league netball – but most importantly, we want players who are keen to get involved and be part of the team!

We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved over the last two seasons and would love to find a couple of players to come along for the next chapter with us. 💙

A huge thank you to Esther Walton from Loughborough Lightning and Heidi from Leeds Rhinos Netball for delivering such a fantastic session with some of our young Comets this evening 🧡🖤

The girls had an amazing time, learned so much, and were inspired by your knowledge, enthusiasm and encouragement. Sessions like these are invaluable in helping our players develop their skills, confidence and love for the game.

Thank you both for making it such a memorable evening. We are looking forward to our next session.

✨ Join Castleford Comets! 🧡

Castleford Comets are looking for a few new players to strengthen our teams for the current and upcoming season. ✨

➡️ For our Monday Night Social League Division 2 team, we’re looking for a defender and a mid-court player, ideally someone who plays Wing Attack or Wing Defence and is available to start asap with Comets Purple. Matches are played on Monday evenings, mainly at Kings High School in Pontefract.

➡️ Following our recent promotion for Comets 1 in the West Yorkshire League to Division 4, we’re also looking for a circle defender to join the team. Matches are played on Saturday mornings at various venues across West Yorkshire, and players would need to be available to train on Wednesday evenings where possible.

💥 We’d also love to welcome new players to our regular Wednesday night training sessions at Lock Lane. Your first session is completely free, and everyone is welcome, whatever your experience or ability. Whether you’re returning to netball, looking for a new club or just want to give it a go!

We’re a friendly, supportive and ambitious club, and we’d love to hear from you.
