Did you know there's a fascinating sport that combines precision, strategy, and camaraderie right here in our own backyard? Crown Green Bowling is a time-honoured tradition and Glasshoughton Bowling Club is hosting an exciting day full of it at the YMCA Ladies and Gents Bowling Competition, Sunday 6th August!
Whether you're a bowling enthusiast or just curious about the game, there's no better way to learn and love it than by watching the action unfold. Trust me, once you've witnessed the tension of a close match, you'll be hooked.
But that's not all! This event is as much about community as it is about competition. It's a fantastic chance to meet friendly people, enjoy a day in the open air, and have some good old-fashioned fun.
Hungry? We've got your cravings covered. Food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the event. Start your day right with delicious bacon sandwiches in the morning. For lunch, we're grilling up juicy burgers, hot dogs, cheese or crisp sarnie (lovely) to keep your energy up for all the cheering. In the afternoon, treat yourself to a selection of mouth-watering homemade cakes - a perfect pairing with some exciting games.
And whatever the weather, treat yourself to an ice cream or two!
