It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Chris Quainton (HBC Treasure) passed away yesterday morning (Thursday 18th June).

Chris started his bowling career at Abingdon BC before moving into Oxfordshire joining Summertown BC where he had his most successful period Runners -up in the 1988 County Fours going on to winning the All England Fours Final at Worthing, and going back the next season to win the British Isles Fours Final. When Summertown BC closed Chris moved on to Headington BC where he served the club in many roles before taking on the Treasurer's position 6 years ago. A gentleman on and off the green he will be sadly missed.

His contribution back to bowls was to sponsor the Oxfordshire Bowls League before he retired. There will be a celebration of Chris’s life later in the year at Headington Bowls Club.

Please see the following email received regarding funeral arrangements on the passing of Ann Fleming, should anyone from the club wish to attend.

Good evening all,

As promised here below are the funeral details, supplied by Alex, of Ann Fleming's cremation.

Would Club Secretaries please display and/or circulate as they see fit.

Ann is going to be cremated on Tuesday 30th June at South Oxfordshire crematorium at Garford, Abingdon at 2 o'clock. Afterwards it will be at Burford Bowls Club.

A busy weekend ahead!
Good luck to Gethin, Joe, Craig, Remy, Sharmy and Crossy in the Middleton Cup on Saturday against Warwickshire at Banbury Chestnuts (2pm).

Good luck to Ruby, Claire, Bev, Hollie, Margaret and Harriet in the John's Trophy, also on Saturday against Warwickshire at City and County (1.30pm).

Also best wishes to Noah, Gethin, Joe, Ronnie, Fin and Nye who are representing the county in the White Rose on Sunday at City and County (9.30am).
