Carryduff Swifts have been playing Walking Football at the 3G pitch at Lough Moss since the 2nd May 2025 and the numbers attending and the enthusiasm shown by everyone involved have been very encouraging. The next step is to purchase a football kit and establish a regular panel of walking footballers who will be willing to participate in the various tournaments that are held throughout the country
. Club Tournaments are held in Olympia, Avoniel, Ards, Bangor, Banbridge, Hillsborough, Lisburn and Carrickfergus. There are also opportunities to play at international level, if selected, and these tournaments are held in venues such as Sweden, and England. Recent international tournaments have also been held at Avoniel in Belfast and the FAI Centre outside Dublin. Walking Football is for everyone at every level whether you have never played before, want to improve your fitness or just want to come along and have some fun. The main rules are walking-no running no contact and the ball shouldn’t travel above head height.
