Now that the trip is over and we are on route homwe, we want to reflect on the King of the North Box Cup.

We didn’t get the results we were hoping for this weekend. That said, every one of the lads represented the club with pride, heart, and professionalism. There’s only so much you can do when officials allow repeated fouls including headbutts, low blows, and excessive use of elbows and headlocks even after protests were made. No coach will stand by and allow our boxers to be put in that position.

Despite the frustrations in the ring, the event itself was well organised and laid out, and the experience gained will be invaluable for the lads as they move on to what’s next.

We want to give credit where it’s truly due. Councillor Skinner has been absolutely tremendous in helping us secure transport for our team’s trip to Scotland. His support has made a real difference, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Time and again, he has stepped up and reached out where and when others haven’t, showing real commitment to our club and to grassroots community sport. That kind of support means everything to a community club like ours.
