All roads lead to Carrickfergus Grammar RFC as our 1st XV battle in a winner takes all game to qualify for the Schools Cup.

With both squads boasting similar results this season it’s set to be a great spectacle.

Another special mention goes out to two of the most junior members to appear at pre season. The Pollard brothers, Rory and Callum, showed incredible heart and spirit throughout pre season. The Pollard brothers showed that it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that counts. Well done to both brothers on attending every pre season session. 👏 🔥

A special mention goes out for these two individuals. Ellis Bell and Harry Bell. Both showed up ahead of other players consistently and helped set up the sessions. Their determination and spirit are to be applauded. We are excited to see the impact they have on the senior squad this coming season.

As a school, we were delighted to see the effort put into pre season by this group of individuals. The sessions were aimed at instilling discipline, raising fitness levels, having fun, and starting to gel our Senior squad together. Well done to all boys that turned out over the two week period that may not have made it for the final day photo. This season is already shaping up to be an exciting and intense one! 🏉 🌟

Good evening,

It's that time of the year again. When our eyes turn to the rugby season ahead. To ensure our players are firing on all cylinders for their first games; we will be running several pre-season sessions.

All students involved with rugby at Carrickfergus Grammar School in Years 10-14 are encouraged to attend. Details can be found in the attached images regarding dates, times, and essentials.

We are excited to see what the year ahead brings and to seeing all players new and seasoned joining us for the sessions.

We invite everyone to attend an evening of fun quizzing! We are hosting a Hockey and Rugby fundraising ‘Quiz Night’ on Wednesday the 21st of June at Carrickfergus Golf Club. All proceeds on the night and all ticket sales go towards our upcoming tour to Portugal in February 2024. Please visit school reception if you would like to purchase a £2 ticket. Club Community Rugby Officer [CCRO] Opportunity

Carrickfergus Rugby Football Club is seeking to recruit a Club Community Rugby Officer [CCRO]. This will be a paid position within our club with an expectation of 25 hours/week during school term time.

The CCRO will work closely and collaboratively with local primary and post primary schools to both develop interest for rugby and the game for girls and boys across our community. The CCRO will develop coaching plans and deliver these effectively across age groups between 5 and 18 years old. Key to this role will be increasing participation numbers within our mini and youth sections and as such, the CCRO will work with our mini and youth team coaches.
As a club we will ensure the successful candidate gets all training required to be successful in this critically important position.

On Thursday evening we held our annual Junior Rugby and Hockey awards at Carrickfergus Golf Club. After a fantastic meal we presented the awards.

Year 8 Munster Most Improved Player- Kai Hyndman

Year 9 Player of the Year- Scott Robinson

Well done to all the prize winners! This season seen all players in years 8 and 9 improve massively, this resulted in great endings to the season at the NEBSSA Tournaments!
