BELFAST & DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE

QE2 'A' travelled to Belfast tonight Tuesday 8th September to play this weeks League match against Ballygomartin 'A'. It turned out to be a successful journey for Zak Sheldon's team as they came back down the coast with a 3-1 win.

Winners on the night for QE2 were Gavin Baker (2-0), Zak Sheldon (2-1) and John Kane (2-0).

What a talent young Keston Withers is. The 13 year old Larne Junior has won our latest Handicap Event defeating Belfast's Tom McGurk by 11-5 in the Final, taking home £300 for his efforts. Tom banks £150.

Remember the name, with experience much more success lies ahead on the baize for the youngster.

It's well done to Jack Carson. The Carrick cueist took down our OPEN EVENT 27 today Sunday 6th September. In the Final he overcame Belfast's Stevie Simpson by 11-7 to lift the winners prize of £375. Stephen took home £185.

RILEY ROLLS TOWARDS THE HILL !!!

🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱

What an incredible day in the QE2 as local lad 16 year old Riley Patterson took on one of the top players in the World of Pool, Stevie Dempsey from Dublin, in the King Of The Hill Open Handicap Semi Final.

It was a Race to 21 frames with Professional player Stevie starting on -10 and Riley on +2. It was dish after dish by both players early doors with the Professional expected to come through over the long distance. But Riley had other ideas and actually increased the handicap to 13 frames leading 14-1. What followed next was amazing as Dempsey played fantasy Pool winning 11 from the next 12 to make it game on at only 15-12 down. But Riley has bags of self belief and he rallied to find a second wind to get over the finishing line at 21-15.

Riley will face either Rhys McLaughlin (Antrim) or Aidan Sheridan (Mayo) in the Grand Final with the winner banking a nice £4,000 with the Runner Up £2,000. Date TBC.
