Our final big sailing event of 2026. We had challenging conditions with too little wind, then too much wind. Managed 5 out of 6 races thanks to a very early Sunday schedule. Well done to our overall winners Niall O’Brien and Dermot Flaherty from FFC, Connemara, second was Trevor D’Arcy and Alan McClernon CSC and third, Lee Statham and Andy Paul from Waterford Harbour Sailing Club. Also very well done to CSC’s Matthew McClernon and Paul Fekkes who finished first in the Bronze Fleet. Thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard to ensure the event was a success. Today was Day 1 of The Topper Northern Championships. We had a great turnout of 57 boats but with very light winds we only managed 1 race today. So it's all to play for on Day 2.

That's a wrap on the last race of the Late Summer Series 2026. It certainly finished with a light one after all the cancellations earlier in the Early Summer Series due to stormy nights!

Honestly we couldn't be prouder of Chris Lindsay at CSC. He really has come on from his days in the battery for Tues and Thurs racing!!

Belfast Lough's Chris Lindsay is appointed Chief Umpire for the LA28 Olympic sailing regatta.
