Hello & Welcome to all our new followers
My name is David Thompson and I am the owner and coach at Archery for Everyone. Originally from a little village in County Down, Northern Ireland called Carrowdore, I now live in the seaside town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim.
My workshops, birthday parties and corporate events take me travelling throughout Northern Ireland.
In the last 7 years of being a qualified archery instructor with Archery GB and now a fully certified coach, I have seen first hand the enjoyment this sport can bring to many children and adults, from the age of 5 to 105.
My aim when creating Archery for Everyone was to make archery, as a sport, accessible to as many as possible. I bring archery into your setting or to your event so that all of those who take part gain a new skill while building their confidence.
The mobile aspect of this means I am able to reach many, who might not ever get the chance to try this sport for themselves.
Having attended two special schools myself when I was younger, I have a special connection with those who have special, additional and/or complex needs. I understand how challenging everyday life can sometimes be for these children and adults, I've experienced it myself and so now, I am in a position to give something back by passing on my archery skills to others who perhaps, as yet, haven't quite found something they enjoy and can excel at.
For me, the look on the faces of participants when they shoot their first arrow is priceless and one that will
always remind me why, after many years of thinking about it, I finally set up Archery for Everyone.
