Thank you to 3R Charity Shop Carnforth for their grant. This has helped us purchase new kit for all 3 of our teams. All 3 teams were in action last Wednesday (including the derby between Mantawrays and Whipwrays!) where we got to wear our kit for the first time. The tops look great!

If any other local clubs/ groups and charities would like to apply for a grant then check out the link in the shared post for details

Anyone that fancies coming to try our netball club out Wednesday night is very welcome. We start at 7pm and it’s £1.50. We go on until 9pm. It’s a mix of a bit of fitness and skills then playing. Look forward to seeing you at Capernwray Hall on the outside courts (just keep driving along the main drive until you see the courts!)

A tough night of netball on a pretty chilly Wednesday for the Capernwray teams this week.
The Panthers continued to build on their performance from last week and turned in another very impressive bit of teamwork. They only lost to Lightning by two goals, 19-21, which is a tremendous effort. The player combinations of the last two weeks have really come together nicely. Well done you Panthers.
The Stingwrays and Mantas also lost their games versus Jets and Wildcats respectively.
Missing our best C put us Mantas a bit on the back foot, but the team’s versatility and willingness to play wherever required was impressive. Some strong defence all round meant that there wasn’t even a goal for about 10 minutes of the last quarter!
The Stingwrays put in another battling performance but couldn’t quite overcome the organised play of their opposition. However, at this stage of the season, securing another point is a key result as this year the league is impossible to predict, and the range in the number of games played makes for some tricky calculations reading the table.

Well, the second first division derby was another tense game, the score not reflecting its competitiveness. The ball went back and forth many times with some flying interceptions at both ends by Charlotte and Becca. Mantas won in the end but it felt a close one all the way through.
Panthers also fielded a strong 7 with some players returning from injury and, despite losing the game against very experienced and organised opposition, played the best we’ve seen and looked to have some good team work on the go. Keep it up Panthers.

Found out on Thursday that our record attempt has been verified! The Capernwray Netball Club is now an official Guinness World Record holder for the most netball goals scored in 24 hours, and I hope that our total of 14,248 stands as a tribute to our inspirational Victoria for an extremely long time. Well done ladies, and thank you again to all our amazing supporters.

Look what the lovely ladies at the Lancaster Netball League have sent us in the post this week towards the fundraising for our 24 hour world record challenge in honour of our wonderful Victoria. Thank you, you brilliant bunch. I’ve added it in and that takes our total to an amazing £8,568.06 including the gift aid. Thanks again so much everyone.

And good luck tonight Stingwrays, Panthers and Flames, who are all back in action.

The league tables are in and the Mantas and Stingwrays are both still mid table despite suffering defeats mid week. Both teams gave it their best shot but struggled a bit to maintain momentum in their games. But each team won or drew some quarters, so there is much to build on against very strong teams, and great potential for the rematches later in the season.
The Panthers are suffering from more injuries to the squad and also experienced some late availability issues, but the 6 that played gave it their everything and proved their versatility and grit once again.
The Capernwray Flames are also off and running and hopefully the rest of us will catch up with you at a training session at some point soon.

The whole club is back in League action tomorrow: Panthers face Bluebelles in the early game whilst later the Stingwrays take on Quernmore Jets and the Mantas take on the Wildcats. Good luck teams.
Last week the Rosemere lady, Julie, came to training for the presentation of our fundraising cheque. Thank you all again for helping us raise such an amazing amount for both Rosemere and the St. Johns Hospice.
