Club Update
We’re proud to announce that our club is now called Ingleton Kazoku Karate Club.
“Kazoku” (家族) means family in Japanese — a word that reflects the spirit of our dojo. Over the years, our club has grown into a supportive community where people of all ages train together, encourage each other, and share in the values of respect and perseverance.
The new name simply expresses what we’ve become: a family‑focused karate club rooted in traditional Shotokan practice and the local Ingleton community.

Hi everyone. I need all students who normally attend on Saturdays to inform me if you are not attending. When numbers are very low, as they were today, I may choose to close the session. Please make sure you update me so I can plan appropriately. Thank you.

Dear all, I have had enough interest to recommence Saturday classes from this week!!! Hopefully this is going to be more permanent so we can attract more students. For a small extra charge per month students can enjoy training in a smaller group. This has been found to help them progress faster and ready to grade sooner. The increase in price will not come into effect until April giving existing members a chance to try it at no extra cost! Why not give it a try? Classes are from 10.00 to 11.30am. Let me know if interested!

Taking that first step into the dojo takes real courage.
For many children, it’s the hardest part of their whole karate journey. A new room, new faces, a new gi that feels a bit too big. Sometimes there are nerves, wobbly lips, even a few tears.
But then they breathe. They lift their chin. And they step inside.
That moment shows bravery, determination, and the first spark of confidence that grows with every class. In our dojo, we celebrate that first step. We welcome every child with patience, kindness, and respect. We guide them gently and help them learn at their own pace, so they leave their first lesson feeling proud. Every black belt started exactly the same way. Every journey begins with one brave step. Nearly five years ago, this club in Ingleton began as a dream. Since then, many children have taken that first step through our door. Some moved on, but those who stayed the course are now preparing for their black belts in June. We welcome every new member—confident or nervous, loud or quiet, ready or unsure.
